From Chapter [ . . . ] — " I miss you . . . "
His eyes had begun to grow heavy, the warmth of her body brutal towards his usual wakefulness so early in the morning. He had just begun to nod off when . . .
“Nan?”
“Hm?” He thought he had lifted his head, but her heart was still thumping against the inside of his ear.
“I’m sorry for scaring you . . .”
This time he did raise his head which seemed to confuse his exhausted mind, but he shook off the initial feeling just so he could respond. “I would have done the same thing. You were right to act so quickly.”
“You’re not angry?”
“No.” He tilted his head, capturing her lips in a very long and tender kiss. “I’m proud of you.”
“Do that again . . . please?” Fresh tears found her eyes, a pleading stare shining back at him.
Everything in him screamed at that look, his heart lurching from his chest by the mere sight of it. He was quick to fulfill her request, kissing her again even as his tail began to give a slow wag. Her lips curled into a smile, her tears tickling his snout as her laughed sung its way into his ears.
He couldn’t quite stop, drawing away only to come back with another which she would immediately return. Her right arm, though well tucked into its cast, reached up and caressed his cheek. Although she couldn’t move her fingers much, she did what she could to deepen the kiss just by sandwiching his face.
“I love you.” She huffed between kisses, her lungs practically shriveling with every breath.
“I would live a thousand lives to hear you laugh.” He returned, the statement so pure that it had caused her to cry again, but this time he could feel her joy in that same laugh. “I’d die a thousand more just to hold you in my arms.” They finally separated after some time, his lips trailing down beneath her jaw, to her neck, then her collar bone, and back up again.
“I love you, Nanouk Magnusson.” She whispered, “I’d live just to know you.” He released his full weight over top her as the warmth consumed them both. He settled his snout against the side of her neck, pressing one final kiss as he whispered back.
“I love you . . . Faleran RuinLain. More than the stars in the sky, or the world beneath our feet. You’re mine, and I’ll always be here to break your fall.”

Let me know if you guys would like to see the sketches of all of my bigger pieces (maybe even the little ones) just to see the before and after. I’d love to share all of them but it’s up to you guys. (I love my sketches but dang some of them can be ugly lol, especially because I draw on paper and then trace over it digitally)
I know I just said I have art/writer's block, and I do, but I needed something to fill my time and I just so happened to be close to finishing the digital version and figured I might as well try to finish it. However I was NOT expecting to actually finish it tonight (1:25 am when I'm writing this) but I'm so happy that I did because I am so incredibly proud of this piece. I don't care if it totally flops, I for one am so proud to have been able to actually finish it.
It means so much to see Fae and Nan being their absolute best selves with one another, despite everything they still have each other and that's the most precious thing to me. They've come so far since the first time I've drawn them.
Fae was just supposed to be a fun/silly add in to give Y.N. a sidekick and Nan was mainly there to be my "love interest" because I am so chronically single its sad. But now their lore runs so deep within this story, that if I were to remove them we'd basically have nothing left. And I am so proud of that.
Hopefully one day you guys get to read about their journey, and maybe then you will love them as much as I do. They are so real to me, and I find myself continually wishing for this world, that I've so meticulously created, to exist just so they have a chance to actually live their little lives.
