I think the homestuck pilot did really well for what it was trying to do, that said, I hate the title card joke with every fiber of my being

#homestuck #like inalready thought it was interesting to show wv so early instead of making it a reveal #but thats fine #but the whole title card thing? its weird to say this about homestuck of all things but...#it lacked sincerity #like john has a sadness to him that you see for the first time in the title card #and that colours so much about the characters and how they deal.with the end of the world #and instead they made it a marvel level “lol isnt this trope played out” joke #in character yet disappointing #that said: loved a lot of the rest of the characterisatiin (especially jade) and the animation is great #fables rambles

Currently reading book 4 of Earthsea and it’s insane how much it feels like a fanfic. Not in a “this doesn’t fit into the canon of the series so far” way, it does that perfectly. But it has that feel of a really good post-canon fic exploring the consequences of canon that the autor didn’t get into. How does Ged deal with his new life? Why are we never learning more about women who do magic? Lets answer all of this in a cottage romance featuring an adopted child. Excpet it's not the end and the one doing it is the author. Insane.
