hello, I know that the leg bowl post was from literal months ago but I am desperate to find more information about the second one. I don't expect you to have an endless knowledge on it yourself but how might I go about finding more about it?? what are they called or where did you find the picture at least?? I'm just in awe I love it so much I must know more

i honestly don’t know much about the leg pottery, i just love it with all my heart. maybe an archaeologist could elaborate?

i can give you a link to a description of one of the leg bowls i’ve seen, which includes the inventory number of the bowl if you’d like to try and look that up

also while digging for the museum this vase belongs to i found this amazing trend of bell-shaped figurines with legs from boeotia so please enjoy this

Maple: Is there a hobby/skill you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

I’d like to add “yet” to the end of this, because I don’t think you’re ever too old to pick up a hobby or learn a skill. But, that being said, there are a lot of different instruments I want to learn to play someday. Instruments like the hammered dulcimer and the bagpipes... (though the latter will have to wait until I’m NOT living in an apartment building so I can practice properly, haha.)

Harvest: What fictional character do you most identify with? Why?

There are a lot of characters I identify with, but I always kind of default back to Gourry Gabriev from Slayers. Like him, I’m not particularly bright, but I make up for it with other skills (of varied usefulness) and my positive attitude. I want to protect and defend others, but sometimes I can be too self-sacrificing and get myself into trouble. Also, I’m always ready to fight and I love strong, independent women who could kick my ass.

Spice: Have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted?

Oh, so many. So many. Honestly, I don’t know if I believe in “ghosts” in the traditional sense (spirits of deceased humans), but I know I’ve definitely encountered strange presences that I can’t explain. In my old bedroom at my parents’ house, there’s a presence of some kind that comes and goes- it’s definitely not human, and it’s not malevolent, but it’s not benevolent either. It’s just... there. Besides that, I only remember ones that felt particularly threatening or frightening. About ten years ago when I was visiting family on the Isle of Jura, we stayed in the Jura Hotel on the second floor. One day I decided to explore the hotel, so I walked up to the third floor to see what it was like.As I walked up the stairs, I was overcome with an awful feeling of dread, and by the time I got to the top, I physically couldn’t continue. I turned around, walked back down the stairs, and didn’t go back to the third floor again. (The hotel has been renovated since then, so if I stay there the next time I visit, maybe I won’t have the same experience.)And it’s not a “house” per say, but... a couple years ago, the entire city of Belfast, Ireland gave me bad vibes. It's a nice place, but I couldn’t shake this weird feeling of dread the whole time we were there. I couldn’t get comfortable until we got on the ferry to head back to Scotland.

I didn't want my previous post to feel like I was fishing for compliments, because, REALLY, I work hard on my art and the part of my brain that tells me it's not good enough cAN GO SUCK A LEMON. Yarn: What are your most enjoyable hobbies?Mmm, that’s a kind of tough one, because while I LOVE writing and drawing and would never want to give it up, I’m not sure I’d call them totally enjoyable. Art is suffering, man. Birdwatching is a hobby I can say is completely enjoyable, if only because I do it very casually. If I were more casual about writing/art, I might find them more traditionally “enjoyable,” but then I wouldn’t get the same sense of satisfaction from them. Anything you pour a lot of hard work into is going to be, well, hard work. But it’s those things that are the most rewarding in the end. So it’s a give and take.

Turnip: What is a food you could eat everyday?It’s not a food necessarily, but I do drink milk every day, with every meal that I can and just sometimes because I like it. I go through about a gallon each week (do I have a problem? I don’t think so). But if we’re talking a specific food, erm... probably some kind of pasta or macaroni & cheese. I’m all about those carbs, man. RIP my unstable blood sugar.

Sock: How would you describe your clothing taste?Generally it would be “loose and comfy,” since I like tee shirts and baggy sweaters/jackets. I don’t think a lot about looking cute most of the time, but I think my style is cute enough on its own. There are some days when I lean toward androgyny, but most of the time I like cute femme styles.

not to sound like a sappy kid but my mom honestly!!!!! she always has my back and sure, she can kinda nag me about stuff but i always really wanna be someone that she can be proud of at the end of the day and im really lucky to have a parent like her!!!

not love at first sight no but i think that a powerful connection can be made in an instant? i dont think that really makes much sense but.. sometimes, there’s a special kind of chemistry with someone who’s a lot like you in the way that matters most, when it matters most.. that kind of thing might not be love and it might not last, but you can certainly connect with someone strongly in some sort of way in the blink of an eye... but it might not necessarily be love or even attraction? but it can be meaningful nontheless and i should not be talking about my thoughts on the Concept Of Love when i’m buzzed. i really shouldnt be
