Helena has been a special Fabrege' doll project I've been working on for almost a year and completed a few months ago. She has a Music Box carousel mechanism installed in her porcelain stomach. She is fine silver gilded, tarnished for an antique look, and enameled with over fifty layers of color changing dichroic glass powder . Over all she has gone through around 100 kiln firings. She is adorned with a 3 large glass inlay, fine silver butterflies . #fabrege #fabregeegg #porcelaindoll #marmitesue #balljointeddoll #baroque #fineart #musicbox #carousel #jewelerybox #herloom #artisan #art #rococo #morpho #butterfly #bodymodification #bodyart #butterflytattoo
I had a lot of frustration with my post tonight. I had to upload my images to my gmail to actually make the post. I was getting pretty furious which is stupid but it’s fine. Today has been sort of a perfect day off. I slept well. I woke up without an alarm at 9. I lounged a bit. I got up and dressed. I cleaned for a bit. I fed Sweetp. I figured out how to use the toaster oven’s warm setting to heat up the other half of my chipolte from last night to have for brunch. I watched tv. I did yoga for like a half hour an felt really good. I was nervous about the bus so I left a few minutes early. Got the green line. Got off at a better stop so I actually had a side walk to go on. I got there around noon and it was full of hockey players and their parents. So I just found a seat and read for a while. Laure, one of the women in my class, was supposed to bring me skates so I couldn’t do much until she got there. But then she did come and she had forgotten them! But thankfully she lives in the neighborhood so she just ran and got them. And it made my day so much better. Jeff, the normal instructor, is in Mexico apparently. So we had a sub. And I loved her. She’s ususally with the younger freeskate girls but she put one of them in charge and focused on us. There was only half of the group there today too so we got a lot of personal attention. It was actually perfect. I don’t know why I didn’t realize this but I’m in the free skate class. I knew it was advanced but I didn’t know thats where I was. I by all rights should be in the prefree skate group. But honestly I love the challenge. Even if I am the worst I’m catching up. Me and Laure are almost the same. Give me a few weeks and I’ll be right on with her on my one foot spins. I had it before but I’m not quite back there yet. And today really helped. The teacher held my hand and helped me when I got confused about my right and lefts. She said I’m a natural at Mohawks and that felt amazing. She said for only skating less then a year I’m a natural. Which just makes me want to take more classes. I’m going to look into the other rink and see if maybe I can swing it since I’m not doing ballet. But money continues to be tight so well see. I also go to work on my waltz jump today. I’m just so damn scared of jumping into my toe pick. But she said that it’s the safest place I just have to commit so I will keep practicing. I left there and walked to my bus. I thought I’d maybe go somewhere else, a thrift store or something, but I decided to just head back to my neighborhood. As I was walking towards home I passed the Walters and they just opened their show about Russian crafts so I stopped and looked at some fancy eggs. The one had a tiny little building and I love it so much. I also really liked the pretty umbrella handles. It was a beautiful show. They also had a complementary show about modern eggs but I didn’t care for that. But the eggs were great. I went and looked at the gift shop and They had a bear on a pearl and it was so pretty and I wish I had money for it. I almost went to get crepes but they were closed so I went home and had the last of my ziti. I downloaded Google assistant and I really like it so far and I keep using it for stupid stuff because I love the idea of talking to my phone robot. Like I told it I had a head ache earlier and it told me it hoped I felt bette?? Love you robot phone. I worked in my studio for the rest of the afternoon. I paid some bills. I worked on some painting. I watched tv. I worked on my diorama. It was a real nice afternoon. There is still things to do. Like send in proof of my income so I can get my student loan payment reduced. And pay for my health insurance. But I had a really productive day. I took a very very hot bath. Basically boiled myself. I tried to dye my hair but I mostly stained my hands and neck. And now I’m laying in bed and waiting for my allergy meds to kick in. Tomorrow I will do laundry and work on art and probably not much else. Just going to chill. I hope you all sleep well tonight. Sleep well.
