Super excited to be starting a new Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt next week!
The original colour scheme for this quilt was indigo, blue, red, and neutral, but I love picking my own colours and decided on something a little different. I picked blue, teal, beige, and a salmony pink;
I really love how these colours look together and am really excited to work with them!
I did notice along the way that my colour scheme is actually not that far off the original; indigo vs royal blue, light blue vs teal, red vs pink, and beige is just a neutral colour, but I've jumbled my colours so they'll be in different places within the pattern, so it should create a totally unique effect in the end!
And of course, Bonnie Hunter is well known as a scrap quilt designer and always encourages participants to make her patterns from their existing fabric collection, so I did my best to pull from what I already own. All of the beige, about half of the pink and teal, and maybe a third of the blue came from my pre-existing collection of fabric, the remainder was purchased, so about 65% of this quilt will use fabric that I already had at home!
Can't wait for the first clue to release on 24 November!
