i really like darning and mending. i like taking a piece of clothing that might have been thrown away and giving it more life. I like when my black darning thread blends in perfectly with my black socks.  i like taking a flaw and making it dissapear.  i like knowing these are my clothes and i took care of them.

Retrospect Sucks

Today felt fairly productive:

I started off with a hearty breakfast of coco-pops (the breakfast of champions) and then went on to write one paragraph of that sociology competition essay. That doesn't sound like much because it isn't, but hey, progress is progress right?

I then went on to try and figure out some mechanics for the fabric craft thing and that... well, that was less successful. I do have an idea of how to do stuff but I started making what is essentially a prototype of a prototype (possibly of another prototype) because this is fiddly and different (much like Jimmy Saville (too soon?)). Even this super early... thing isn't finished but you can see what I was going for below:

I also started experimenting with iced coffee again. This time I'm trying to be innovative in two ways: the first is by trying to make a mocha iced coffee because mochaccinos are pretty damn amazing, and the second ground breaking innovation is making coffee ice cubes so that when they melt down the drink doesn't become all watery like it does with water cubes. Unfortunately our regular ice cube tray is being used though so I had to use this teddy bear one instead: I think I'm okay with it.

I spent some time cleaning my room as well but the biggest time sink I experienced was foolishly buying Don't Starve on Steam. It is fun and challenging and I just can't do it well. You basically just get thrown into a wilderness environment, stripped of everything but your clothes, and mockingly told that 'you should probably eat or you'll die, prick. Lol' - I'm paraphrasing of course, but considering I had, and to some extent have, no idea what's going on it was pretty brutal... and yet I can't stop playing it... 

Oh, and my sister has asked me to make a quilt for her in a different pattern to the one I made before, so you may be seeing me stumble through making another quilt soon. On the other hand, she also asked me to make a bookigami (patent pending) (see below) for her if she provided the book and my laziness allowed me to get through that rough time period.
