Ok, I’m getting obsessed with converting books of decorator fabric samples into quilt tops. This one is from one book with the burgundy added from my stash just to bring a pop of color. This one measures about 4.5’ square. I’m not going to allow myself make any more tops until I get all the ones I have made into finished quilts. I was feeling slightly overwhelmed with all the things I could possibly do with that massive haul of decorator fabric samples I’d acquired a few weeks ago. I’ve sorted them all into various categories and decided to grab this set and figure something out. I forgot to take a pic of the set but it’s the center pieces in each of these blocks. Each are beautifully plush and detailed and compliment the others even though they are so varied. The inner pieces are 6” squares, and I added 3” strips of a solid brown around then. Sandwiched each block with batting and backing and I’m doing some straight line quilting on it. Only got 8 of the 20 blocks finished today but once they’re done I’ll do the quilt as you go method to connect them.
