Ok, I’m getting obsessed with converting books of decorator fabric samples into quilt tops. This one is from one book with the burgundy added from my stash just to bring a pop of color. This one measures about 4.5’ square. I’m not going to allow myself make any more tops until I get all the ones I have made into finished quilts. Made two small quilt tops today. The first one is 100% silk is beautiful golds that don’t photograph as nicely as they truly are. These were all from one entire book of decorator fabric samples. They were a beast to disassemble and remove the paper backing, but I love how they came together. In the second one I used 7 squares of decorator samples in a variety of colors. They are 70/30 silk/cotton. The cream satin was from my stash. No pattern, just kept sewing and cutting and sewing some more until I was happy. Quilted the rest of the blocks and trimmed each one to 10” square. Played with the layout a bit and liked this one the best. I’m adding a darker brown to connect the blocks and for the binding.
