From the Latin “fabula” meaning “story”, and “maximus” meaning “important”, with reference to the word element “lex” as in “lexicon”.

Fabulex is a term for a story or piece of media that is important to your identity in an alterhuman (or even plural) way without it necessarily being your hearthome or being a character from it. For example, a Pokéfabulex person may consider the story of the Pokémon anime important to their identity, and may even consider elements of it important to their gender, but they do not identify as any character from it.

It is important to note that this term doesn't mean you can't also have other alterhuman or plural connections to the media in question, just that the fabulex connection does not require them.
