I’m sending you this because I don’t know how else to send you the video (feel free to ignore the actual post itself if you want I just needed the video for my ask lol)
But when they start walking in the bay, and the camera shifts so it’s focused on Eddie, specificly Eddie’s face. And only Eddie’s face. And the absolute journey it goes on. And how…uncomfortable ? He seems.
Do you think that’s actually something or am I reading to much into it? It just seemed so… odd of a camera angle to mean nothing lol.
Hey nonnie
Oh Eddie’s face journey was wonderful and don’t think you’re reading into it at all - they chose to go that with that super close up from slightly below on Eddie’s face because they want you to see and focus on his reaction to what buck is saying because it’s important.
What’s really interesting to me is the way all of Eddie’s reactions - his facial expressions and his body language - all really show how well he and buck know one another and how accepting they are of each other! It’s beautiful to see regardless of the buddie of it all - but it is very buddie coded!
A couple of other things with that scene - the fact his Henley is fully buttoned up (which is not a normal Eddie thing at all - he nearly always has at least 1 or 2 buttons undone) and also the fact it’s a short sleeved Henley - again not a style Eddie wears super often as his Henley’s tend to be long sleeved - is so interesting to me from a narrative perspective - Eddie through 8b trended more towards button up shirts and long sleeves - his Texas look as it were - but what we’ve seen of 9a Eddie and now 9b Eddie is far more short sleeves or no sleeves and not really any button up shirts. To me this is all playing into him becoming more open - which makes the Henley being buttoned up even more telling as it makes him buttoned up - it’s protective/ guarded and it compliments his face journey really well and the topic of conversation - the Henley is a more open Eddie - but an Eddie who is still buttoned up and still holding himself in chastity! I’ll likely go into this a bit more in my costume meta when I can also talk about the tonal shift in his costumes as well because it’s all super interesting, and it’s really helping to add to scenes and makes this close up on him more impactful because it frames his face more and heightens that appearance and feeling of discomfort!!
Have a good evening /day and thanks for the ask 💜💜💜
