Mugshot Monday - “Beautiful Unknown Wooden Face Mug” by "O”
I have no idea who made this mug. Do you?
I went down an internet rabbit-hole today only find some “Philippines wooden face mugs” that looked somewhat similar. But I’m stumped.
There’s a super cool cursive “O” on the bottom of the mug. That’s my only clue.
I bought it at Scrappy’s Vintage Gifts in Hayward, Wisconsin last August. Barb, who owns and operates Scrappy’s, didn’t have any info on where this mug came from.
I actually took a photo of this mug and put the mug back on the shelf at the time, but my Instagram friends thought I should buy it. Eventually I decided it was too dang cool and bought it. I’m so glad I did.
The only bummer about this mug is I can’t drink anything out of it because I’m afraid my coffee would soak up into the wood! But the carving is fantastic and I think it’s really beautiful.
But who made it? I need to know. I have a feeling I’ll figure it out eventually, but let me know if you have any ideas. Cheers! 😀
