one au concept that ive recently been thinking about is what i like to call the face value au i think it works best with fnaf but basically you take a piece of media that has had a lot of analysis and theories and that has a lot of meaning behind it and you just throw it out the window you take everything at face value you can probably see why this idea works so well with the fnaf franchise

Would you mind if I wrote a drabble for it some time? I would give you all the credit for the AU, of course. Ahhh, I’m so glad you’re enjoying it, anon!Armin and Annie maintain a long-distance relationship once he joins the Survey Corps — she travels south to Zhiganshina to visit him when she’s given a long enough leave to make the trip; he always comes north to Stohess when the Survey Corps is on winter furlough.  (As an aside: The Survey Corps never sorties outside the walls in winter — this would be tantamount to throwing their soldiers’ lives away.  Instead, they spend the winter season on an annual leave.  Unfortunately, the long winter furlough tends to contribute to the opinion among some citizens that the Survey Corps is a bloated drain on taxpayers, since what they see are idle soldiers lazing about their hometowns and eating taxpayer-provided food.  In reality, winter is a crucial time for Commander Smith and his direct reports — this is fundraising season for them: to head inside Wall Sina, put in appearances at parties and other social functions, give a face to their military division, and convince Sina’s wealthy elite to help bankroll their efforts.)Armin and Annie also exchange letters, though taciturn and socially awkward Annie continues to find this difficult — so there’s no question he’d find out about her promotion from her in short order, if he doesn’t hear about it from Reiner first (with whom he also corresponds).Armin’s fundamentally happy for Annie, with this news — it’s a good promotion for her, and moreover, it finally takes her out from under the financial burdens which have been weighing her down so heavily.  His hope is that being able to take her father out of poverty will grant her at least some degree of freedom from the obligation which has caused her to dedicate her whole life to the care and keeping of her infirm parent, at the cost of her own hopes and dreams.Things are a little more complicated than this, for a number of reasons, and circumstances don’t stay as they are — but in order to shed a little bit more light on the military and political climate at the time, we’d first have to travel south to take a peek at what the Survey Corps has been up to all this time, as well as backtracking to Armin’s university life leading up to his decision to join the Survey Corps.  I’ll put those both on my list to do illustrations for soon, and then we can talk more about the long-term consequences of where their lives are going for Armin’s and Annie’s relationship. :3To answer your other question, yes, you can feel free to write FVAU-inspired stuff, just link back and of course let me know about it so I can read it!  If you find FV inspiring, that means a lot to me. <3

Reiner handed her an envelope without looking up.  "Transfer papers for you, Annie." Annie blinked, her expression carefully schooled to be something neutral.  "Why am I being transferred?" "Lieutenant Feulner recommended it," he said.  He was having trouble meeting her eyes: unusual behavior for Reiner.  "He thought it would be a good opportunity for you."  Boris, seated loose-limbed and inattentive in a chair to the side of Reiner's desk, looked over with a raised eyebrow.  Reiner caught his glance and added, "I agreed, of course.  We submitted your CV for consideration." "I'm not interested in a transfer," she said, holding the sealed envelope between both hands as though she could avoid its outcome by simply not opening it. Captain Braun nodded at the envelope.  "It's your choice," he reassured her gently, "but you might be interested in this one."

Annie's shiny new Royal Guard Corps uniform for Face Value AU (aka no such thing as titan shifters). (A promotion to the Royal Guard comes with an honorary rank of Major, but more importantly, a huge salary increase  -- enabling Annie to finally be able to afford what she's been saving for all these years -- to move her father inside of Wall Sina with her.  The post is a good fit for her -- her strengths are in combat skills rather than in leadership.)

Is there a fanfiction to follow your face-value-AU? Or is it limited to the current art you have uploaded on your blog?

Wow, it took me a stupidly long time (3 days) to decide how to answer this, which is dumb considering it’s a very easy answer.No, I don't have a fic for it -- it's just my dumb collection of illustration things.I sometimes pick at drabbles/ficlets for particular scenes or moments in FVAU that resonate with me more from a writing perspective than an artistic one, but I haven’t done long-form writing in over a year, and I probably won’t be returning to it soon (if ever) — right now I’m really focused on trying to become the visual artist I want to be, so I want to dedicate myself to improving on that, because I have a long way to go.  I try to use Face Value as a place I can have fun with plotting things and coming up with AU ideas and relationship nuances — still stuff I love to do — but get those ideas across in a visual format instead of a written one.  It becomes an outlet for writing-type ideas when I’m not otherwise writing, which is something I need and something I enjoy.I guess what I’m saying is, yeah, it’s definitely a little unusual to put this much extended art effort into various snapshots of a storyline that doesn’t otherwise have a written component — so I think people always expect there to be a fic that goes along with it.  I’m sorry to say there isn’t one. <3
