I don't drink coffee I take tea my dear
I like my toast done on one side
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York
See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candle's brighter than the sun
Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Takes more than a license for a gun
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
A gentleman will walk but never run
If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
Sting - Englishman in New York (I might have used this song before as a quote)
So by accident I posted this before I wanted to, so if you read this before I wanted you too, please read it again :P Or just read it twice!!
This song has always been one of my favourites. I am writing this post while drinking coffee but than again I don't think that is the most important thing of this song. Today is the 22nd day without Facebook and I had some rare encounters with Facebook: One of my friends on the university asked me why I was unfindable on it..... And the reactions after that question are always priceless, an open-mouthed face looked at me for 10 seconds and than there was the unavoidable question: "How can you survive without Facebook? But especially why?" I still don't know how to answer both of these questions but some where in me I feel this is important to me!
I was going to talk about biospheres today because the brother of Anselmo (my fatty plant) has grown enough roots to be planted but I did not have time to plant him yet!
Luckily there are lots of other things to talk about today ;) It is 50 years ago that the "Cuba-Crisis" started. It could have been the end of the world or at least modern society but it was not in the end!! Now we have to wait until the 21st of December this year ;) HAHAH, but on a more serious note, if you ever saw "The Day after Tomorrow", two of the things from that film already happened. A big crack in the Antarctic Ice formed and apparently there is prove that the Golf-Stream is slowing down...... (just google the two and you will find articles) Well we will see, until every thing goes horrible wrong, lets enjoy our lives!!
Last but not least I wanted to do a shout out, I don't even know whether the read this blog but still!! Sam, Nicola, Claire, Michael, Lisa, Morris, we should meet again!!
That is all ;)
Love from Eindhoven and see you guys soon!!
PS. My other blog is updating every day for the next weeks, there are so many pictures on the way :D
