Speaking of which, does anyone have comparison pics of the older and newer (less defined/more worn down) MH Spectra face mold? I know I’ve seen some, but it was a long time ago.

I'm sure I read somewhere about the Blaine sculpt being modeled after/inspired by a particular male model, although of course I can't find it now. That's probably why I find it easy to imagine original Blaine and Cali Blaine as versions of the same theme, although without a source that's just speculation. I'll dig up original Blaine when I get home and ...stare at him for a while, I guess? Without something like a 3D scanner or even a caliper, that's the best I can do.
So I finally got a Cali Guy Blaine (coconut scented!) and can finally confirm for myself exactly what the difference is between this and the Tango sculpt. I don’t have my original Generation Girl Blaine at hand, so I’m not sure how big the difference is there, but I have a feeling he’s a bit more angular. The Tango sculpt definitely has less definition, and the best place to spot it is actually the nostrils.
ETA: as has been pointed out, the version Cheerleader Ken has is called the New Tango or Basics Ken, and is a modified version of the original Tango sculpt. Apart from a new neck type, it has slightly flattened, blurry features compared to the Cali Guy Blaine version. So definitely not identical. Also: Tango Ken came out first, and apparently Cali Guy is a slightly inflated version of that sculpt. How they managed to keep his features sharp and detailed I don’t know.
I was vaguely considering modding Cali Guy to fit the Cheerleader Ken body, but mr Cali is more tan and possibly a bit yellowed, so it wouldn’t look good even if I managed to not mess up the neck mod. I guess the search for a decent articulated male body with a perfectly matched skintone is on again.

What doll is that face mold from?
(Maybe OP has answered already, but if my sources are correct that’s the 2016 AA Holiday Barbie with the Claudette Gordon mold.)
Oh look an actual dolltober drawing
Mattel mold: Asha
yes i know i spelled mattel wrong
Spotted this Defa Lucy Skipper-size doll today. Never seen her IRL before, and the pic turned out blurry and very pink, but you can easily find better pics on Flickr if you’re interested. The eyeprint it kind of cute, and I always like a 1/6 scale paperbag, but it’s not enough to make me want to shell out. The unarticulated body just makes me annoyed.
Side note: guy in the lower right is a clone doll with the Groom facemold. I like that facemold, and I don’t know why, since it’s incredibly similar to the 2005 Ken mold, which I hate. (I think the nose might be slightly different, but I can’t swear on it.) It’s possible that what I primarily dislike about the Ken mold is the overused blond mop of hair style that I associate with it, which makes this the only exception to the rule that rooted hair is always preferrable to molded. Either way, I’ve already got a much better clone of this one.
I've been wondering why I don't like the Teen Skipper sculpt very much, and I think the reason is that it reminds me a lot of Lammily (which just wasn't all that great a sculpt).
