SHIPPING WORLDWIDE TO YOU! In Sweden, the Facit brand is as well known as IBM or Olivetti. The FACIT Model: Globalism, Localism, Identity Available at www.draw-down.com Based in Atvidaberg, the company produced mechanical calculators, typewriters and office furniture between 1922 and 1998. By the 1970s, the company had grown from a local family business into one of the world’s leading manufacturers. But a few years later the Facit organization had disappeared—worn down by global capitalism. The Facit Model: Globalism, Localism, Identity looks at this peculiar example of corporate modernism through the printed matter produced in Facit’s in-house print shops, culled from FACIT’s archives. Type specimens, manuals, advertising leaflets, and product catalogs bear witness to a culture which feels increasingly distant, and yet helped to define many of the codes and forms familiar to us from today’s world of work. With texts by Paul Gangloff, Isabel Mager, Gabriel Maher, Our Polite Society, Mark Owens, and SANY. #typographyinspired #typographydesign #typo #typographer #typographic #typographyart #typographyinspiration #typographylove #typedesign #typographydesignersclub #typography #bauhaustypography #typographyedit #ilovetypography #FACIT #Globalism #Localism #Identity (at Sweden) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ZgdmfHAQh/?igshid=1v60sw9zgu2si

SNAPSHOT OF PEARSE STREET APRIL 2017
I must admit that I had forgotten that Pearse Street is one of the longest streets in Dublin. The street varies in use along its length.
My first full time job as an electronics engineer was with M.J. Flood on Pearse Street. At the time they were the agent in Ireland and parts of the UK for Facit Typewriters. Facit, a Swedish Multinational, had just…
