I sent this update for the VAs on Discord, and I thought it might be worth sharing here, too, just in case. Specifically cus of 3 points:
1 - While I will consistently be doing reblogs on the Watcher DLC room polls, there will be no impact on the voice-acted response posts whatsoever. All of that stuff is gonna keep going, exactly as it has been, since the whole shadowban mess happened.
So if you followed me specifically for the askblog posts, then don't worry, they'll keep on coming.
2 - But there will likely be a whole bunch of Watcher spoilers in there. The basegame + DP polls featured literally every single room in the game, including the Void Sea in Depths, the Scavenger Chieftain throne room, the puppet chambers of Five Pebbles and Looks to the Moon (all the versions we see throughout the different campaigns, too), etc.
I'm assuming the same principle will apply this time, too.
So if you don't want to potentially get spoiled on key Watcher story moments, then make sure to block the tag (I'll add 'Watcher spoilers' too, just in case).
3 - Jadzio, if you're reading this, I apologize for taking a bit. I actually noticed that the Watcher polls started, about roughly 4 days in, but the timing was a bit unfortunate, as I had to work on my bachelor's thesis.
But I'll finally have the time for this, which is exciting, cus the room talks were incredibly fun ^w^
(Even if they didn't get much attention, and was just something I sort of did... for me. Those are really the best kind of hobbies, honestly)
I've had this story/oc idea for a long time because I love The Clone Wars series, it's by far my favorite star wars media and one of my favorite episodes is where Rex meets the deserter Cut Laquane and so here goes: there's a Jedi general that's blind but highly in tune with the force (like Chirrut) and can tell the clones apart using the force and is in general highly empathetic and compassionate so the clone captain serving under them falls in love with them and it explores the ethics of a clone army and the Jedi philosophy on love and just all that there you go that's my trash
I forgot to post about this, but a couple days ago, I was working on a project during the night - when I suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard loud violent banging on the window.
It kept going for a really long time, and I was utterly terrified, thinking that someone is attempting to break in.
Then I look through the window, and I see this idiot
So anyways, fun fact - did you know that birds don't understand the concept of glass?
For some reason, the dude was sitting there for 3-4 hours, and every 20-30, he was attempting to enter the room, and doing that excessively loud banging on our 'invisible wall' again.
Let me tell ya, it didn't make it any easier to focus on writing up the documentation about my Android Studio project. But at least I got some real good laughs :D
And good thing our cat wasn't nearby at the time :3
This blog is many months old by this point, and it seems like I'm slowly but surely being noticed by more and more people, sooooo I'm thinking a pinned post might be in order.
Name's FadeBolt, but feel free to call me Fade. (Yes, that is the name of a DotA ability. No, I did have more creative name ideas, I just did stuff under this one, so I'm sticking with it)
~ I'm an anxious 21 year old Hungarian wreck that is currently doing college in the northern parts of this small hellhole in the middle of nowhere that we call Serbia.
~ I like to gush and ramble about media. I like to interact with media. I like to make stuff about media. I like to look at, and take part in stuff that other people make about media.
~ Most of this blog is about my hyperfixation that has lasted for almost two entire years by this point, which is, you guessed it - Rain World.
~ Obviously, I still like other stuff (most notably Warcraft 3, as well as League of Legends and its wonderful lore/universe), and I might make posts about them on some occasions, but they're not my main interests, and considering how much I've entrenched myself in the RW community, that likely won't change anytime soon.
~ I don't really have a central thing that I intended for this blog. It's just simply - if I get ideas and I like them enough, then I'll do them. And if I stumble into something that really peaked my interest, or if I feel like I could add something onto it, then I'm reblogging it. (Though I do have a bit of an anxiety over that, cus whenever I reblog something, I always feel bad for the stuff I didn't reblog, but I can't just keep reblogging everything all day every day, so I often end up not reblogging good stuff. Help me. Please xd)
~ But the main things that you can expect here are long writings about my opinions, (mostly) fun drawing, voiceovers, and occasional ramblings about stuff.
~ I want this to be abundantly clear - I really value constructive criticism, no matter how unsolicited it might be. So if I said something you don't agree with, made a mistake somewhere, or just have some general issues with my stuff, don't be afraid to point them out. (Just make sure that it is actually constructive. The goal here is to improve, but there's not really much I could take away from something like "Your art sucks" or "Your opinions are stupid", is there?)
~ Due to recent, uhm... let's just call them 'events', I want to note that online discussions around politics and stuff related to that makes me extremely stressed and uncomfortable, especially after seeing what Tumblr can do to people who said stuff most folks didn't like.
~ This doesn't mean I'm making a strict 'no politics' rule or anything, I'm just looking to minimalize that stuff, and preferably keep it in private 1 on 1 conversations where I won't feel like I'm being judged by hordes of onlookers. This applies to any other contentious topic, too.
~ Unlike a lot of folks, I will not be having a DNI list. I know that this sounds a bit weird, but I want this space to be nice and happy and welcoming, and I do believe that media should be used as a way to unite us in spite of our differences (so this idea of saying "If you have these political opinions I don't like, then GTFO!" just doesn't sit right with me, though I completely understand why some people do that).
I also believe that instead of locking out and trashing on people who said and did stuff we didn't like, we should instead try and help make them understand why that stuff is wrong, so they can learn and grow, because people can indeed change for the better, especially with how many young folks are roaming around on this website. I won't force any of you to hold yourselves to these ideals, but I will stay true to them myself.
~ With that being said: I am not tolerating problematic stuff or asshole behavior here. I'll be somewhat lenient on this, but "I want this space to be nice and happy and welcoming" will always take priority over avoiding being judgemental of others. Just please don't bother me with stuff that's obviously messed up, don't be a cunt, and don't send NSFW my way, that's all I'm asking.
Aaaaaaaaand I think that's about all the important info for now. I might update this in the future, if need be.
Anyways, I'd like to quickly thank everyone who's ever supported me, taken part in positive interactions with me, or have even just quietly appreciated at least one little thing I have made/done at some point!
I was super scared that nobody's going to care even a little bit about anything I'll do, but I'm very thankful to have gotten proven wrong again and again and again by this wonderful community!
Have a wonderful day and night, everyone! Cheers! :D
Dear fellow Artificer fans! I believe it's time for a redemption!
The Scavenger genocide is not right. Most of them had nothing to do with what happened to their family, so why punish them?
The reason why the incident happened is because Artificer and their family had to hastily rush through the dangerous toll without payment, before the rainstorm would annihilate them all.
So clearly, there's only one correct thing to do here...
While they may not be able to kill the foul iterator himself, they can still avenge their kids, while redeeming themselves, by hurting him through the grand new goal of Inspector genocide!
It's fitting that their master isn't called Four Pebbles, because he wasn't quite able to put two and two together upon the Slugcat's visit that followed its murder streak.
All the better! This shall only give them more opportunities to show how much they've grown! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
.........though sometimes, the Scavs may end up bothering the lil fella as they're hanging out near the top of the superstructure.
But those, they're only cleaning out for self defense, y'know. They're still Scavengers, after all.
So, I've been sort of struggling to remove the background noise of my recordings without making my voice sound really strange and unpleasant.
It was just too goddamn loud, and the strength of the noise remover had to be so high, that it damaged the recording as a result.
I could speak louder, and tinker around in Audacity, to make everything sound fine on my first two answers. (And I've already uploaded both by now)
However, with the third one (which I didn't upload yet, and no, I won't be spoiling what's in there).... I just couldn't. No matter what I did, there was either a noticeable background noise, or I sounded horrendous.... or both xd.
So I sort of gave up, and gave myself a couple days break, as I tried to figure out what to do.
Then I got curious, and tried to trace the noise, and......
.... apparently, my extension cord decided to start sizzling like mad. Which was getting progressively worse over time.
So, uhh...... yeah, I think I'll be replacing that. (Dw, it's currently plugged out, and it ain't getting plugged back in again)
And what da ya know, my hobby project prevented me from potentially setting my apartment on fire.
I suppose now, I can say that voice acting has literally saved my life.
Ok, I feel like it would probably be nice of me to respond to this
Yes, he/him are absolutely my correct pronouns, I just don't really put that anywhere (unless I'm forced to), because I frankly don't care about which pronouns people use for me (which is why I've also picked any/all alongside the he/him in the SC, btw). I would probably correct others if they assumed I was a she/her, but I'd honestly find that more charming and funny, and not really insulting or offensive.
This is partially due to my native language not having any gendered pronouns whatsoever, but also, I feel like this recent obsession with putting pronouns everywhere is getting a tad weird (Especially when people walk up to a live stage and mention them while introducing themselves... like dude - we all know what men and women look and sound like, don't y'all think this is just a bit redundant? Feels like it'd be enough if just the they/them-s were the ones to mention it, once it would naturally come up)
Don't take this in a negative manner though, the post was real sweet, and I know this is coming from a place of kindness, which I wholeheartedly appreciate. And there's absolutely no need to edit anything - everything is perfect as it is, and seeing it all made me real happy.
Though if any of you end up accidentally misgendering someone, and that person starts a giant fuss over it - then please by all means send me to them. Or just tell them yourselves, that your pronouns are 'symbol of perfection'/'my lord and savior', and it's gonna be offensive to you if they don't use these. (Though I always wanted to pull that on a conflict seeking narcissistic jerk myself xd)
