Can you believe it’s been a full year of queer ish? On Saturday, April 7, FADE had its one-year anniversary, and it was magical!
FADE has transformed over the past year; it has experimented with being an art and music showcase to evolving into a creative experience that has spanned 3 cities, including Austin, TX during SXSW. The one-year anniversary reminds us to keep the intent of FADE in our minds as we continue to build. FADE is her philly moves’ vision of an inclusive and affirming safe space. As we QTWOC navigate societies that may not allow us to be who we are, her philly moves hopes to continue creating memories with you. We couldn’t manifest this vision without your support. Thanks for a dope year!

We can’t believe it has been 12 months since our first FADE! We’re ringing in our one-year anniversary with a bang, and you don’t want to miss any of the surprises!
This month, we took a short vacay from home city - Philadelphia - to venture down south and spread her philly moves and FADE to a national audience. Showcasing the talents of local QTWOC along the way, we explored new spaces and opportunities in both Austin, TX (SXSW) and Atlanta, GA.
Needless to say, we are EXHAUSTED (hence why it has taken us a few days to post this recap *side eyes my damn self*).
SXSW
Ok, so SXSW was insane, and we were not readyyyy. In addition to enjoying the daylong events and nighttime showcases of SXSW interactive and music festival/conference (as one MUST do), her philly moves collaborated with Philly Urban Creators and REC Philly to execute a unique queer-centered activation of our own.
Our three organizations developed a collaboration titled “The Party is the Protest (TPITP)” - a concept of radical inclusion of diverse communities through music and art. TPITP aims to ignite conversation about inclusion in creative spaces and to directly challenge oppressive norms by centering diverse communities, as opposed to catering to white cisheteronormativity.
During SXSW, TPITP/FADE existed as a pop-up showcase on Wednesday, March 14 that we set up on the Colorado Riverfront. Performers included Austin, Virginia, and Philadelphia-based acts: HONEYCHILE, THEakasha, Zai, and Zhé Aqueen.
WAIT! BEFORE YOU SCROLL DOWN LOOKING FOR A FULL RECAP! Most of the pictures from FADE SXSW were saved on a phone that got lost in Atlanta, so all EXCEPT 2 photos are completely lost! *cries in salty*
If we find more photos, we’ll upload them ASAP, though!
ATLANTA
Immediately following SXSW, her philly moves pop’ed up at Space2 in the A to host FADE held in collaboration with the super dope queer womxn’s collective Rotten Peaches.
Held on Saturday, March 17, FADE featured the sounds of: Hourglass, Jamz, and THEakasha. Performers were the ever-so-fine Yung Baby Tate and Zhé Aqueen. Mic work and hosting was provided by Dani Da Ninja, and Rejected Society set up shop with some dope merchandise and giveaways.
It was LIT! Check the photos to see the move.
