OK. I warn you now that this may be petty but it's really peeving me off |D Anna's too nice to say anything about it, but I guess since I have a bit of time on my hands right now, I'll write about how we both feel.

So basically it's about a certain Youtube user (they'll remain unknown) who decided to use the icons from Magi that Anna/fadingforya coloured. I know it's the internet, and that once something goes up online, it's almost certain that it's going to be taken and used by someone else. And I guess that's something that I've accepted, especially when it comes to manga colourings scans.

Still, what I expect is for people to at least give credit for the usage of the icon, instead of just palming them off as their own. Or even better, to ASK for permission to use the icons. Yes, I'm being petty. And sure, sometimes you may be too shy to ask someone you idolise for use of the icons. Or maybe you're just too lazy to bother. I can't deny that sometimes I've used coloured icons from collections on LJ that I didn't ask permission for - but I've always given credit somewhere.

I guess what peeves me off even more about this case is that these were personal icons, specifically coloured and made by Anna for our use as a personal joke. They were never meant to be used by other people, and never made available on a sharing website for people to use. The fact that someone happily just downloaded and started using it themselves as soon as we'd changed our icons really kinda pisses me off - to the person (and to any others) you could at least ask Anna if you could use the icons. She's such a lovely person, she would have said "Yes" in a heartbeat.

Also, since we're on the subject of what pisses me off, people imitating other people's editing style reaaaaaaaaally obviously (yes, this person also edited a video similar to Anna) without mentioning any inspiration/credit for ideas, also annoys me. It's not that hard to say, "Inspired by ___" in the description. Again, this probably sounds incredibly petty, but as an editor, it's nice to get recognised by people for the way you edit, and speaking of a fan of Anna's, I really find her editing unique - there's no-one else who (originally) edits like her imo.

So what's the moral of the story? 

ASK permission to use icons. 

DON'T steal ideas. 

ALWAYS give credit for images/colourings/ideas used.

...if you don't, trust me, we /will/ find out (mainly cos Anna and I are stalkers and we're watching....always watching). And all this goes for any of my other friend's works. I've watched their videos over and over again and I KNOW when people have used the exact same animation they used (I once saw a video that I swear tried to do the exact same animations as Chrissy's amazing DOGS video and they didn't even mention her as inspiration..) or if they've taken colourings of other people's without mentioning credit.

I'm not saying that you have to credit every single idea that you use in a video! I'm just saying that if you were really inspired by something you watched and tried to copy it, why not mention it? Maybe other people watching what you've created will want to find other videos that are similar to it. You'd want to be acknowledged if it was your idea, wouldn't you?

They say that imitation is a form of flattery, and I guess that's true, as long as you acknowledge the original source of your inspiration.

K - How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom

I loved the people in the Ouran fandom! I'll never forget the excitement and craziness that came out on the FRoP forums when it was around the 24th of each month, when the new chapter was soon to come out...ahhh the Ouran fandom's pretty awesome <33 I just wish the manga fanbase was even bigger than it is, cos Ouran deserves it ;A; <3

Hmm, I never really liked any of the yaoi pairings people put on the characters xDDDD /manga-purist. So I never liked the idea of Hikaru/Kaoru (romantically..but BROmantically, HELL YES!!), Tamaki/Kyouya, Mori/Honey, Kyouya/Kaoru etc...

H - Do you prefer characters from real action series or anime series

Based off the anime and live action of Ouran, I have to say that I love the anime characters more x3 The anime was the reason why I started to love Ouran so much, cos it was stupid and hilarious x3 The live action does a pretty good job though <3

I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why

Hmm....I don't think so - I think it's increased my fandom of series tbh, cos there's just so much stuff to reblog HAHA |D

Ummmmmmmmm I don't really read fanfiction much, but I'll always love tatteredmemory/moonchild10's TamaHaru fluff pieces, cos they were always so wonderfully written <33 haven'treadtheminyearsbutIremembertheywereawesome

I can't remember exactly, but probably one of the earliest OTPs was Ash/Misty from Pokemon *shot and facepalming* how embarrassing...
