Whenever Anna and I watch each other's videos, it ends up being a competition of who can fangirl over the other person's part more.

You know, when you get left home alone at your friend's place for about 2 hours, you really don't expect anything eventful to happen. But guess who just experienced a first-hand encounter with a break-in? As in, someone actually broke into Anna's house while I was watching TV? Yeah, that just happened WTF.

OK. I warn you now that this may be petty but it's really peeving me off |D Anna's too nice to say anything about it, but I guess since I have a bit of time on my hands right now, I'll write about how we both feel.

So basically it's about a certain Youtube user (they'll remain unknown) who decided to use the icons from Magi that Anna/fadingforya coloured. I know it's the internet, and that once something goes up online, it's almost certain that it's going to be taken and used by someone else. And I guess that's something that I've accepted, especially when it comes to manga colourings scans.

Still, what I expect is for people to at least give credit for the usage of the icon, instead of just palming them off as their own. Or even better, to ASK for permission to use the icons. Yes, I'm being petty. And sure, sometimes you may be too shy to ask someone you idolise for use of the icons. Or maybe you're just too lazy to bother. I can't deny that sometimes I've used coloured icons from collections on LJ that I didn't ask permission for - but I've always given credit somewhere.

I guess what peeves me off even more about this case is that these were personal icons, specifically coloured and made by Anna for our use as a personal joke. They were never meant to be used by other people, and never made available on a sharing website for people to use. The fact that someone happily just downloaded and started using it themselves as soon as we'd changed our icons really kinda pisses me off - to the person (and to any others) you could at least ask Anna if you could use the icons. She's such a lovely person, she would have said "Yes" in a heartbeat.

Also, since we're on the subject of what pisses me off, people imitating other people's editing style reaaaaaaaaally obviously (yes, this person also edited a video similar to Anna) without mentioning any inspiration/credit for ideas, also annoys me. It's not that hard to say, "Inspired by ___" in the description. Again, this probably sounds incredibly petty, but as an editor, it's nice to get recognised by people for the way you edit, and speaking of a fan of Anna's, I really find her editing unique - there's no-one else who (originally) edits like her imo.

So what's the moral of the story? 

ASK permission to use icons. 

DON'T steal ideas. 

ALWAYS give credit for images/colourings/ideas used.

...if you don't, trust me, we /will/ find out (mainly cos Anna and I are stalkers and we're watching....always watching). And all this goes for any of my other friend's works. I've watched their videos over and over again and I KNOW when people have used the exact same animation they used (I once saw a video that I swear tried to do the exact same animations as Chrissy's amazing DOGS video and they didn't even mention her as inspiration..) or if they've taken colourings of other people's without mentioning credit.

I'm not saying that you have to credit every single idea that you use in a video! I'm just saying that if you were really inspired by something you watched and tried to copy it, why not mention it? Maybe other people watching what you've created will want to find other videos that are similar to it. You'd want to be acknowledged if it was your idea, wouldn't you?

They say that imitation is a form of flattery, and I guess that's true, as long as you acknowledge the original source of your inspiration.

[this is the 2nd time I'm answering these questions cos stupid tumblr didn't post my original, so my answers are less fangirly than they were before x3]

1. 3 scenes of movies / series / books that made you so happy, you would’ve wanted to open up the window and scream out your joy. - OK, so the first one is from Ouran (obviously) - when Tamaki and Haruhi finally got together ;A; The whole build-up to it too, their first (proper) kiss in chapter 81, Tamaki and Haruhi's talk at the end of chapter 81, where Haruhi says something like, "It doesn't matter where we go, as long as I'm with you, Tamaki-senpai, I can never be bored." (paraphrasing cos I haven't read Ouran in too long and I'm at work so can't check xD). HNGGG my OTP of all OTPs will always make me happy <3

- Second scene would be from HIMYM!! The latest episode with Barney and Robin finally getting together!!! That was seriously the sweetest, most unexpected and loveliest proposal - THE TEARS CAME POURING DOWN SDFJSLGH.

- Hmm, I guess the third one would be from Harry Potter? When Ron and Hermione finally got together - I love those two together ;w; (though only the book version, the movies didn't have enough chemistry for me xDDD). MUST READ HARRY POTTER AGAIN <33

2. 3 scenes of movies / series / books that made you so sad, you literally cried. - A LOT OF HIMYM SCENES ;_____; Umm, when Robin rejects Barney in "Tick Tock" and you see him upstairs blowing out candles and picking up rose petals. When Marshall's dad dies. When Ted finally lets go of Robin in the latest episode. When Robin finds out she has kids and sits all alone in the snow, then comes home to find Ted decorated the apartment just for her. When Lily leaves Marshall to go to San Fran. STUPID TV SHOW THAT MAKES ME CRY AND LAUGH!!

- That beginning scene from 'Up', where you see the two of them growing up together, getting married, seeing how she couldn't have kids and her heartbreak and then how she passes away and leaves him by himself and she passes him the book of adventures AND IT'S ALL WITHOUT ANY SPEECH HOW DO THEY DO THIS!?!? TT____TT

5. What’s your fondest memory of 2012? PSSH LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW CHRISSY |D But really, November was the highlight of my year <33 The whole lead-up to November was also so so exciting, like how we had the crazy idea on Feb 29th that you could come over and see me, then buying Coldplay tickets cos we knew we'd get to see them together! And the count-down til November!! And you buying your plane ticket, giving us an actual day to expect!! AND WAITING FOR YOU AT THE AIRPORT (while live-texting Anna xD). AND SEEING YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME, GETTING TO HUG YOU AND SCREAM WITH YOU AND EVERYTHING <333333 And of course, the actual time you were with me was amazing ;w; CAN'T WAIT TIL WE GET TO MEET UP AGAIN!!!!! 1. My eye lids?! Sounds random but they're double-folded so I've always been proud of them xD 2. My fingers and hands, and my toes and feet..LOL. Mine are nicely formed/shaped yo. 3. UMMM UMMM UMM...my teeth!? Thank you, braces LOL

9. 3 character traits that you’re proud of / you love about yourself Hmm, well I (hope that I'm not being presumptious), but I think I'm a good friend (most of the time?). I'll do almost anything for the people I love and care about, and I'll always make time for people if they need to talk to me.  I like that I can get passionate about things. Even if it means I get overly-emotional at times xDDD I cry at the stupidest things sometimes, but I think it makes life more exciting when you're a hardcore emotional person, ie when fangirling HAHA. But seriously, I can listen to certain lyrics and tear up xDD I think the last thing is that I'm a very curious person. Once I get intrigued or interested by something/someone, I'll want to find out everything I can (maybe sometimes I take that a bit far *coughstalkingcough*). I like having a curious personality - it means I can get distracted by some things that would otherwise bore other people, meaning that I can keep myself pretty occupied easily haha.

10. What are you suuposed to be doing right now? Well I'm at work, so I guess I'm supposed to be doing work? |D But there isn't that much to do, so...

11. Have you ever confessed to somebody? How did you do it? Or how would you do it? Nope..and if I had to confess to someone, I think I'd do something overly cheesy...like write a letter saying why I like them and what I like about them, and then I'd hand it to them in person and watch them read it and see their reaction (I'd write it instead of saying it out loud, so I can plan what I want to say rather than getting it all mixed up when I try and say it xDD). But I think I'd only confess to someone if I was pretty sure about them and if I felt they liked me too (I wouldn't confess to someone to get shot down, I don't think xDDD)
