Today has been a very rough day. We knew our temporary foster babies had coccidia and had been treated for it- no big deal, I’ve dealt with that a lot. So when they had diarrhea, I wasn’t surprised- they still ate well and gained weight...until they didn’t. . This litter consists of three kittens- two boys, and one girl. And the girl, Stubs, well, she’s special. A sassy little lady with a little stubby club tail, she had my heart immediately. . Last night Stubs started declining. We got her seen by a vet this morning and got everyone fluids, but she was still having problems and didn’t want to eat. I gave her a lot of special attention- here she is wrapped in a heated blanket, hanging out with me after I cleaned her up. She started to seem more alert and active so I thought we’d try feeding her again, but as soon as I picked her up she started seizing. We started fading kitten protocol after she stopped, but everything happened too fast. Our sweet stubby girl is gone. . Rest In Peace, sweet lady. I’m so sorry, Stubs, that I couldn’t do more for you. I may have only met you two days ago, but I hope you know how much I absolutely adore you- how much your foster mom and I love and miss you and wish we could have saved you. I’m sorry, my sassy lady. Rest easy baby girl, until we meet again. 🌈 . . #rainbowbridge #fadingkittensyndrome #restinpeace #spayandneuter #bestfriendsanimalsociety https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPvWUypuJF/?igshid=1ab9exbb8ntgh
