Cleaned up my Fairy altar 💖
Loaded up my pocket altar! There’s a white tealight candle, a box of matches, paper for sigils, a piece of white quartz, aventurine, and a yellow tumbled crackle quartz. And my faerie necklace!
Offering to The Fairfolk.
Hail and Hallowed Hunting my friends and fellow witches. Today I created this stone altar near the Indian Hawthorne shrub I recently planted. It is an outdoor altar that I hope is befitting the Fae. And it is where I will make my offerings twice a month during the time of my Moon Rituals. While I was building it, a tick crawled across my arm. Though luckily it didn't bit me. Then a mosquito did bit me. I brushed it with my hand and ended up streaking blood across my arm. But that didn't deter me from finishing the construction of it and making my offering. Although my ritual doesn't begin until tomorrow during the time of the Dark Moon, I felt it was necessary to make my offering, or at least part of it, today. With everything that has been happening in my life lately, today was no exception in the pattern that has plagued me and mine. Rotten luck all around. It's been one thing after another. Everything warped and twisted. More financial problems, more stress, more things going wrong. I do not believe in this case it is the Fairfolk's doing. It could be something to do with them in a way I suppose. Because the last two moons my offerings have been sparse due to my current financial situation. I haven't had much to give in the way of offerings. But I have remained consistent. And I do what I can. Which is why I don't believe it's any of their doing. I didn't think about it being a negative shift in luck until today. But with the amount of...and pardon my language. The amount of bullshit I've been having to deal with lately is absolutely unbelievable. I have looked for mundane causes and mundane solutions to no avail. I can't believe that it's all just bad timing and rotten luck. The instances have been too close together, too tightly wrapped. And so I began looking for the possibility of mystic or occult causes. And therefore solutions of that same nature. The first was the altar. In case the Fae feel stilted or that I am lacking dedication I have created an altar and made my offering. If I find that they are the cause and their intent is malicious I will deal with that. I have begun taking measures to shift my own luck. Some of you may know that I have a spell for just such an occasion. Though I feel like I may need something more potent in this case. If I have been cursed, I am taking measures to ensure that whatever the effects of that are, are stopped and returned to their sender. And finally, as far as my financial situation is concerned. I am doing everything I can to remedy that. Including giving readings to help pay for necessities and bills for the next two months. All in all. It has been an awful couple of weeks and it doesn't seem like it's going to let up until I make it. In whatever way I possibly can. So. If you are interested in getting a reading please refer to my pricing post here. And if you have any advice, thoughts, comments, concerns, or questions. My door is always open. Hallowed Hunting, Ydra
I’ve been putting off setting up an altar because I just wasn’t sure what to set it up for, as a Christian I don’t worship gods or goddesses and I didn’t really feel the need to make offerings to anything else but I’ve been wanting to work more with the fae so I figured why not make a fae altar! any ideas on how I can start to set one up?
I’ve come to notice, that the fae seem to like their altars by the window, this allows light to shine through and allows any crystals on the altar to charge, without the need to move them. Just thought I’d share for those interested in working with the fae <3
Another set up for a temp fae altar! The pieces are the same, two pieces of clear quartz, a coin, a faerie pendant, the double sided sigil (the fae welcome side is copied from @borboranoir ) the back (kindly spirits only) was designed by me. I got some candles and I’m looking forward to putting together a neat little travel size altar after the weekend!
I thought I might give a little explanation about my fae altar, whether for anyone reading this or my future self.
I put the kettle over my medication to promote a welcome and healthy environment. To say to be here is to be in good company where we can talk about our needs and our improvements, our struggles and battles, without shame.
I use the Q and soot Sprite buttons because both characters invoke tons of fae energy to me. Fun loving and chaotic.
The candle holder is the third eye symbol. I don't know how I feel about the whole chakra thing at this time, but I have read that this symbol can coincide with my Desert Rose stones.
On the note of stones and crystals, another aspect of the craft I'm not sure how I feel about. Desert Rose stones are supposed to hold little guardians in a way, and I do find myself talking to them from time to time.
The art work is all art on the back of business cards I've gotten at conventions tbh. I picked the ones out of a big box of them that I felt conveyed fae themes and energy.
The Hobbit door and mushroom necklaces are from a dear friend of mine. I wore the door close to my heart for many years.
The moose and the bear could be the God and Goddess. Could be my partner and myself.
