An initiation of sorts. I wrote this for myself but thought I’d adapt it to share to you as I’ve not written and shared a spell for a while. I took inspiration in regards to an initiation ceremony from ‘The Green Witch’ by Arin Murphy-Hiscock.
You will need –
Tea of your choice
4 candles, each 1 representing an element
Decorations corresponding with the season/elements
Initiation text
Note – Initiation text will be personal to the user. There are plenty of these about online, but for this spell/initiation it’s a very personal intention setting rite, more than anything else. So I would advise that if you are taking these from the internet, then to ensure you make changes so that it resonates with your soul. I took mine from a book and have amended it in order to represent all that I want to be. I have also asked for forgiveness for my past wrong-doings too. This is of course entirely optional to you.
Method-
- Brew your tea just as you normally would and set in front of you to cool. When stirring, stir clock-wise with the intention of connecting deeply to the earth and nature spirits around.
- Once you have sat down. Facing North with your tea in front of you, light your candles for each element, starting with North-East then East-West. Ensure your decorations are set down too, but away from the candle flames. Keep your tea in the middle of the four elemental candles. Each time you light them, feel yourself connecting to that element.
- If you use casting circles, then now is the time to open one.
- Watch the steam rise up from the tea you’ve just brewed. Keep in mind the person you really want to be, ensuring your text resonates with your feelings.
- When you are ready, you may now begin to read out your initiation. Whilst focussing on the tea.
- Once you’ve recited your initiation sit quietly and drink your tee, whilst contemplating all that you have set out to achieve with and for the earth. Stay with the candles until they have naturally burnt out. You may also use this time to plant a herm/flower with your intentions buried with the seeds, journal or chat to your deities.
- You are now initiated upon your path. Don’t forget to close down your circle once done.
FIN.
