I couldn’t resist. This AU rots my brain HARDCORE. I love it too much not to draw the twin kings again in all their fae glory. >w<

Plus the song fit too well not to draw inspiration from so yeh….. it was gonna bug me til I shared it with all the FAU lovers.

Somewhere in the back of my mind there's a Fae Dream au where he tried taking a human for his own and got startled by how much they hated it and went "well shit. I must not be filling the enrichment and habitat needs for humans" and went full autistic for hundreds of years studying how humans will react to being taken to the fae realm and decided "Oh! They need to be free range and I need to also obey their Rules."

So he has dozen of human Names and he just chills and let's them come and go and has a much much better success rate at keeping humans then any other fae. Turns out the more you spook a human the more agressive they get, and that if you just tell them that couple hours of dancing will translate into 3 human days they will plan ahead to be gone for 3 days and be fine with it

I got my first ever backlit table so I tried a few things (mostly, the coloured lines). It’s not perfect, got some oopsies, but I think it went pretty well ! And I can only improve from there.

I had a random thought about chapter 1 of That Time I Got Kidnapped By A Fairy King And Accidentally Fell In Love if Dream found Sweetpea first. How do you think that first interaction would've gone if it was Dream instead of Nightmare?

Sorry it's taken so long to get to this ask! As I mentioned in a previous post, I've been taking a little break. When I saw this in my inbox, I was so excited to answer it and then I realized that I didn't know what would happen. So I've been wracking my brains trying to come up with the answer, and I hope that it's up to standard ^^

EDIT: THIS GOT AWAY FROM ME ;_;

If Dream found Sweetpea first, then things would be very different. Like Nightmare, Dream would be able to tell what kind of emotions she would be feeling due to her heartbreak. This is where things would deviate.

See, Nightmare listened to Sweetpea, understood her and gave her a choice on whether to go with him. Just a little vacation to soothe her broken heart. Dream would do no such thing.

Dream would use his magic to manipulate Sweetpea's emotions to make her feel better and tell her that only he could make the pain go away, which isn't exactly a lie. With how much pain she would be in, it would be only too easy for Dream to coax Sweetpea into going with him to the Summer Court.

He would keep her close, using his magic to keep her happy and entranced. Whenever she asks about going home, Dream uses his magic to remind her that only he can make her feel happy again. So she stays.

Before anyone's realized, months have gone by. Sweetpea has already started her transformation into a Fae and her memory has started to fade. Her name isn't Sweetpea. Her name is Navrée. Some of the Fae disapprove of the name, but don't dare say anything. It's not like she can understand it. She doesn't know that it means "heartbroken", a permanent reminder of how she came to live in the Summer Court.

Of course, eventually Navrée is told by one of the braver Fae of the court. And when she confronts Dream, he tells her the truth. The memories of the night she met Dream come rushing back to her, in part due to the Fae blood already running through her veins. She can't remember everything, but she remembers enough. It devastates her.

Within minutes, guards are running towards where Dream and Navrée went to talk, drawn by the Summer King's screams. When they arrive, Dream is clutching Navrée's body close, trying to stop her soul from breaking. He never wanted this to happen. He wanted to make her better! He wanted her to get better!

When Navrée's soul breaks. Her wings wither and leave glimmering dust coating Dream's arms. Her body disintegrates.

All that's left in its place is a single bleeding heart flower.

Thinking about human cinders backstory…. Maybe they were working at this nice cafe and Pieskos in glamour came to visit the human realm. Maybe they felt this great sense of anger from a coffe shop and was curious as to why. It’s such a small shop so why was the source there? When he enters the line was long, the cafe was bustling with customers.

Some would whip their heads at the man walking in, wearing such light, simple, airy; but luxurious clothing. This monster simply came out of nowhere and looked like a million bucks! As he walks to his spot in line a gleaming aura radiates around him. This clearly couldn’t be coming from him, that’s impossible. Maybe some people should cut the caffeine for a bit if it making them delusional.

Pieskos slowly arrives at the register looking for whatever or whoever is radiating such powerful emotions in the cafe. Slightly over to the right of the cashier was the source of that overwhelming anger: a simple small human. Bags under their eyes, apron dirty with syrup and coffee stains and was alone on the bar…

Pieskos gives the cashier their order, purposely staying close to the pickup counter and let his aura do its work. It would at least ease some tension from the barista and stop the impatient customers from overwhelming them while they work. Maybe they could convince the barista into a little visit into the fae realm. You know, to help relieve some of that boiling anger of theirs~

Summary:

George has always been warned to keep away from the woods, the ancient magic lurking there swallows travellers into its depths and never lets them go. It becomes hard to stay away when a stranger with a shock of curly, honey-coloured hair catches his interest, and a name kept secret may be the only thing preventing George from falling prey to the faes' tricks.
