Sky without Branches
Summary: Roman has never been outside eir forest and now eir friends have brought em to where their field met eir forest.
Continuation of In the Forest
/\/\
Roman was fascinated and bewildered. Ey had followed the 2 new fae to see their field, not quite believing such a place exists. Their stories of a sky without branches and only low laying plants were bizarre, and the mentions of humans intimidating. Now ey could see for emself and there was more lights above em than ey'd even known to imagine.
Ey had frozen at the edge of the forest, simply looking out upon the empty land, nose wrinkling at the view.
Oooh and a Fae one, "You helped me. And now I will help you."
@magpiemorality said: That last one with Roman and any side!!

“You helped me. And now I will help you.” The first time Roman says it is immediately after the human has freed him. The iron cuff lays on the forest ground, mechanical lock picked with learned skill and the runes picked with unintentional intent. It had taken an hour, an hour the human had spent calmly speaking to him while he focused.
He hadn’t known what Roman was, that was clear from the moment he stepped into the clearing. He’d so foolishly given his name. He was lucky everything Roman was had been suppressed by those runes. Or perhaps unlucky, a returned name was an easy favour to give.
And an easy favour appeared to be what Virgil wanted, staring at the freed fae with wide and panicked eyes. An easy favour isn’t what Roman wants, too amused by Virgil’s fright. It was so different to what he’d shown just moments ago when he was convinced Roman was a human victim or some cruel madman.
“I didn’t, I didn’t help you for a favour.” Virgil says, taking another step back and gulping. “You don’t, I mean, I don’t want anything in return. Thank you.” He adds, desperately trying to cling to manners even when it’s obvious he wants to run.
An easy favour won’t do at all.
“What a good mortal. I’m glad I decided to keep you.” + roceit (you can make it polyam if you want) and fae!roman??? - loveceit
Fae!Roman you say. Well. @loveceit
Warnings: Poverty mention, slight dubcon implications (Fae magic making someone tell the truth).

Domnhall ‘Dove’ MacCread had given his name to a Fae. His true and fullest name, and to none less than the Prince of Summer himself. At the time he’d had nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain from the transaction, and now?
Now he could imagine no other life than languishing here in the palace with the other pretty people the Prince had stolen away. Dove was one of the newer ones, the newest in fact, which made him the special favourite. The Prince, who graciously allowed them to call him Roman, was due back any minute and Dove was anxiously awaiting his return, basking in the sunshine as he leaned out of the turret window and watched the gate, wrapped in the finest of silks, his hair braided with Prince Roman’s ruby and silver colours.
The horns started and some of the other mortals rose from their lounging elsewhere in the enormous room. It was really more like several rooms, only there were no walls, merely hung drapes that divided the odd bit off from another, huge arched ceiling painted with a thousand divine scenes. Dove didn’t know most of the others yet. Roman had forbidden him from speaking to anyone that wasn’t the Prince himself, claiming his voice as he claimed everything else about him. He would be allowed to join them and the community they’d built once Roman picked a new favourite, but that was at least a few years down the line.
Prince Roman had a tendency to obsess, see. It was unfortunate or fortunate, depending on where you stood in the situation, but for Dove- taken from a life of poverty and cruelty and dropped into splendour unlike anything else- it was a blessing. He was loved, adored, desired and taken care of. Treasured and spoiled and soon he would go from that to having a sort of new family, with the others. He knew they waited patiently for the day as well, offering him kind smiles from a safe distance and often leaving presents, though communication was still out of the question.
The horns sounded again, and as he squinted down into the marble courtyard his Prince clattered in through the gate, resplendent in his shining silver armour and red plume atop his chestnut destrier.
He pulled the helmet off and tossed it aside, looking up and meeting Dove’s eyes, smiling his perfect white smile. Dove threw down the scarf he often wrapped around his wrist for comfort, and Roman caught it out of the air, holding it tightly as he vanished into the palace.
Within minutes he was striding across the vast room and holding Dove against the window frame to kiss him, checking him over and finding no signs of harm or otherwise. Dove smiled, blushing prettily, and ducked his head to Roman’s chest.
“I hear you’ve been such a good pet, my darling songbird, while I’ve been away,” The prince murmured, combing his fingers through Dove’s growing white hair. “Is that the truth, Domnhall?”
Dove nodded, the response compelled from him though he’d have given it freely. “Yes, my Prince. I followed every instruction you gave, just as you gave it.”
“What a good mortal. I’m glad I decided to keep you.” The praise made Dove’s legs weak and he blushed harder. Roman just smiled. “Come, to bed with you. I have travelled far and I have missed you. Next time I will do my best to bring you along, if you are amenable. What do you say?”
“Yes, my Prince,” Dove repeated, adoration rich in his voice. “Anything for you.”
After Logan, it's Roman's turn
I'm not quite satisfied with his look, but I'll make it work
(Yes it's Roman. I just need to add colors and then it'll be him)

Forest of the Lost
“Just tell me your name and everything will be all better.” Fae!roman to Virgil?
Taglist: @themultishipperchild @thatonenerdphotographer
Virgil’s parents had warned him all his life to stay away from the forest, things happened in that forest, things that can’t be explained. The forest of the Lost as the villagers called it, people went that went into that forest never came out. Despite knowing all of this Virgil still stood at the edge of the forest debating on entering, after all his parents were both sick and the only herb to cure them was in that forest. His friends stand at his side trying to talk him out of going.
“Come on V, you totally have to do it, we can’t just go back to the village. There isn’t something else we could do.”
“Yeah V! You don’t know what could happen if you go in there, what if trolls ripped you apart and ate your bones?”
“Dee, Ree, you know I have to. They’re my parents, I can’t let them suffer if I can do something about this. Just because no one has come back before doesn’t mean I won’t be the first. I will meet you two back here in two days…. If I am not back by them… take care of my parents okay.”
“You’ll be back V! If anyone can survive that forest it's you. Just remember don’t tell the fae your name or they might make you dance till you die.”
Virgil turns to his friends giving them one last hug before setting off into the forest determined to save his parents and make it out alive.

“Curious, a frail creature like you entering our forest, I am going to keep my eye on you” a voice whispers to itself as the owner follows Virgil around the forest.
Virgil would swear that he was being watched, the feeling of unseen eyes weighing heavily on his shoulder leaving him tense and more anxious than usual. A day had passed since he’d entered the forest yet he still hadn’t found the herb his parents need, at least he hadn’t run into any magical creatures.
“What is a little thing like you doing in our forest?”
Spoke too soon Virgil thinks as he turns to find the owner of the voice, his eyes widen as he sees a fae not even two feet from his face.
“Do you not understand me, little prince? I’m sure I am using human tongue.”
“I-I understand you; I didn’t mean to be rude I had never seen a fae before and was startled.” Virgil quickly responded remembering all the rules he had been taught when it came to the fae, don’t give them or tell them your name, don’t be rude, and try to avoid them at all cost. He’d already failed two of the three rules but he’d be damned before he gave them his name.
“None of that little prince, why is a little one like you in this forest?”
Virgil swallowed heavily before responding, “My parents are sick so I came to find the only herb that can help them, I am sorry for trespassing in your forest.”
“It is all right little prince; it is quite noble for you to come to this forest for your parent’s sake. I can help you find this herb if you give me your name little prince.”
A hungry look had entered the fae’s eyes as it looked at Virgil.
“I am sorry dear fae I cannot give you my name as it would be rude not knowing your name first, however, you may call me anxiety.”
The fae frowned before smirking “Clever little prince, very clever. You may call me Creativity, anxiety. It is a pleasure to meet you. I shall take my leave then. If you need me then just call for me and I will be there in a wing beat.”
Virgil looked around his heart thudding in his ears as the fae disappeared.
“I was lucky… so very very lucky, I have to be more careful.” He muttered to himself as he takes off again determined to leave the forest before the fae… creativity came back and decided not to be as nice the next time the met.
“Don’t think that I will let you get away from me that easily little prince, I know the others will love you.”
The sun was setting on the second day when Virgil found the herb that would help his parents, spotting it just a few trees away he forwent caution and ran to the tree only to trip over a root. His head slams into another root knocking him out. When Virgil comes to his head is pounding and his ankle feels like it is on fire, he looks up to try to find the herb he had searched days for only to find it gone. Tears stream down his face, not only is he hurt but now he has no way to help his parents.
“Aw little prince what happened? Why are you crying?”
Virgil curls up at the sound of the fae, creativity, not wanting to show weakness, in a small voice he stutters out. “Everything I did was pointless, I had only one chance to help my parents and I screwed it up. Not only that I managed to hurt myself to the point I can’t even leave, I am going to die here and never see my p-parent… or my friends ever again… I… I failed everyone.”
Creativity’s lips curl into a cruel smile as he gently coos his next words. “oh, little prince it isn’t all bad I am here and I can fix everything, I just need something from you first.”
Virgil slowly turns to look at the fae eyes watery and voice wavering. “What will your help cost, nothing is free in this world.”
“Just tell me your name and everything will be all better little prince. Such a low prince for the help of a fae. What do you say?”
The next words that fell from Virgil’s mouth came from desperation and damned him. “I give you my name Creativity, my name is Virgil.”
“Call me Roman, the others are going to love you, little prince.” Are the last words Virgil hears before his head is filled with static of fae magic.
