i think i caught a fae's attention

i found The Most Intact dead cicada not too long after i was thinking about how cool it would be to find a bug like that (along with some other cool objects, but i was kind of looking for those cos i went for a walk in a wash in the rain) & i've just generally been really into and drawn to research the good neighbors lately

so i've painted up a lil bird house and put some scrap cloth and a little bracelet that doesn't fit me in it & i hope to put outside soon and i'm leaving a small cup of good quality honey out tonight

crows and ravens in witchcraft

traits: trickery, intelligence, vision, mystery, psychic/supernatural abilities, warning

in folklore, corvids were seen as messengers as the gods and as harbingers of prophecies of doom. i’m sure you’ve all heard the old english nursery rhyme about counting crows, ravens, or even rooks. they’ve been used as a form of divination for a long time, even seemingly starting with the Greeks. When using a form of haruspex, a dead raven would suggest the presence of Apollo. In Western Europe literature and history, there are many references to ravens specifically being a source of great magical wisdom and knowledge. they may also folklorically have a connection to the Fae through legends of Morgan Le Fay.

I dont know if its fae or nature spirits but my plants are immortal.

Examples:

- Leaving for a month I come back and all of them are fine, I then forgot to water them for another 2 weeks and they are still fine.

- dropped my aloe vera on the ground and 3/4ths of its soil fell out and I never got around to replacing it, it's been at least 3 months.

- theres a plant outside who's in a non draining pot, the pot filled with water and froze over for all of winter. The plant is fine, soil has never dried.

I often leave offering in my yard for the local fae and nature spirits, I guess this is their way of repaying me.
