A Fae and a Loki
Continued from Here: With @dearlokigodofmischief (tagging @drorah-walks because mention of D’rorah)
♔—- “That’s a fair statement,” Loki agreed. “But that really just puts more responsibility on us, doesn’t it? To ignore everyone around us and tune everything aside from our own voices out? It sounds simple, but it certainly isn’t easy. I’ve lived for eons and I still haven’t perfected the skill.” No matter how much he might have looked like he had on the exterior… What he presented to people and the ruth were not quite so close. Over the years, he’d learned how to hide what he didn’t want other people to see. The skill that made his manipulation so dangerous, really.
“So, what verdict have you given yourself, then? Have you forgiven yourself or do you still struggle with your actions every single day?”
Getting to that point of her pregnancy were she was just starting to show Rumple had a hand resting protectively on top of her stomach, while her other hand refilled their respective tea cups. Where exactly D'rorah was she wasn't quite sure, but Loki was nothing if not an interesting person to sit and chat with. She wasn't convinced yet that she actually trusted him. Despite D'rorah's friendship with him. Rumple was far too personally familiar with the kind of games tricksters and manipulators could play. She'd played them herself. However she did find herself willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
“Who said I had anything to forgive myself for? Has D'rorah been sharing stories already?” Voice teasing Rumple offered a little smile before shaking her head. “No, let us be honest. I'm sure we've both done things in the past. As for the verdict...” Voice trailing off she reached for her cup to take a sip of tea. A person could be excused for assuming she was going to avoid truly answering, or that she was going to change the subject. She was actually quite tempted to do so. However Rumple had been changed a bit by her time on Terok Nor and Bajor, and the pregnancy was making her a bit introspective. It was a fair question that Loki had asked.
“I think some actions never stop being a source of struggle. That certain things once done act as an eternal lesson. A reminder that even someone like me has a point she doesn't wish to go past, and regardless of if it was by choice or by being forced to do so it is still something that shouldn't be forgotten. There was an incident that it took me a while to...At any rate. The answer to your question?” Leaning back just a touch Rumple's odd eyes gleamed for a moment with those golden motes as she smiled playfully. “Yes.” As far as Rumple was concerned it wasn't a one or the other type thing. She could manage to forgive herself by and large for the past, and yet still struggle with it.
Giving a little nod to Loki she had a curious look in her eyes. “What about yourself? What verdict have you passed?”
