What is your favorite color? I love too many. I'm going to say blue here.

What are you currently reading? Last night, I read front to end Cage of Stars by Jacquelyn Mitchard.

What was the last song you listened to? Toy Soldiers by Mariana's Trench (which like YONAKA's Seize the Power, is kind of apart of the soundtrack of Halos and Poppies WIP)

What was the last tv series you watched? I only really tune in to watch true crime programs if anything, but other than that very little in TV.

What was the last movie you watched? White Oleander. I like the book a lot better.

Are you a sweet, savory, or spicy person? I am not really picky, I love them all. (Kind of a foodie here lmao).

What are you currently working on? Halos and Poppies WIP, piece by piece. And kind of making a list of my many WIP ideas.

@faelanvance is a simply sublime writer. It doesn't even matter what she's writing about, her prose is like watching an artist paint. Absolutely stunning, and entirely mesmerising.

And since today, November 28th, is her birthday I really wanted to give her work a shoutout, and let other people know what a phenomenal person, and writer, she is. <3

And, aaahh yess!!

Chapter 15 of Those Horrid, Horrid Things remains a favorite, yet emotional chapter for me. Really, a lot of scenes between Fenrir and Loki are like that. I'm overjoyed to write a somewhat-complicated parent/child relationship but oh does it hurt at times. For example, from Chapter 12, after Loki returns home when Fenrir failed to save them from being captured:

Fenrir balled his hands up and swallowed. He stared at his dad, suddenly unable to believe they had returned home. They reached up, placing both hands on the side of his face.

“Are you stupid?” they asked.

Hey there!

As this is the first question for the underwing challenge, I'll start with something about Sadie! So, since we're always discovering something new as our characters grow and develop, what has been the most recent thing you've learned about Sadie? And what helped you to find out? Where you inspired by something, or did a scene bring it out?

Oooo this is a fun question! So funny thing, I had never developed the story behind why Sadie played dulcimer and nothing else (out of game it was because I felt like lute was over-used and wanted to do something different). But when I was writing the post, I just suddenly decided that Dwinain was the one who bought Sadie's first dulcimer. He believed in her and if it wasn't for him, maybe she never would have been a bard. It just came to me as I was writing the post and thought it was very fitting for Dwinain's character to do that.

I would also love to hear about any deities you have established in your setting so far, since mythology is a big love of mine. Or, at the very least one of your favourites. Perhaps one that has the most impact and influence in your wip?

AAAHH! YES! I still have to develop proper names for 'em, but in Tirinth they have the Storm Lord, and so the stories go, he beats his shield with his spear and that causes the thunder. They also have the Others and the Unseen, types of fae living in mounds and in the woods. In Frynia they have, trolls and elves and so far, I have yet to introduce and name the deities for there, but they are a big driving force for the plot!

Underwing Challenge, Day 13

Hello, @faelanvance, @marimos, and @vylequinne; I'm back with another group question.

I'm stealing this question from Fáe, who asked me this yesterday, because I think it's a great question and I'm curious to hear others' answers: Do you have a WIP playlist/any songs or music that make you think of a WIP, a character or another element of your story? If not, do you listen to music while you write, and if so, what?

Sword

So, I started writing sections of Something Wicked completely out of order, so here's something far off in the future for Jade:

“I already destroyed him, [redacted]. Manifested the flames of Hell and took him down.”

Jade felt something sharp and cold in her back. She looked down and saw the end of a broadsword poking out of her chest.

[redacted] blinked back tears, her face a mask of rage, as she pulled back the sword. Jade started coughing up blood.

“Jade?” a voice said in the distance.

Hunt

From Something Wicked draft I:

“You remember what you did next, Caz? After you got that in the mail?”

He stared blankly.

“I killed every last one of them.”

“You did more than that, Caz,” [redacted] said. “From what I could gather from the old reports, you basically hunted them for sport.”

“All I was was a hired gun, [redacted],” he said sharply. “Not even a Goddamn foot soldier; I had nothing to do with their conflict. And you don’t mess with a man’s wife. They broke all the rules.”

Desire

From Something Wicked draft II:

Jade pulled out her ear buds and busied herself with searching for an old playlist she had made back in high school, keeping the music on the highest volume possible.

She had no desire to hear the man struggle as Caz pushed his head to the side and stretched his neck taut. She already knew the last thing he would see was Caz’s smile growing wider, and wider still, before something would unstick and hinge down from the roof of his gaping mouth.

Taste

So "taste" comes up quite a few times in Something Wicked:

“I may have to up that price by another $10,000, actually. Do you remember what cooked steak tasted like, Mraz?”

“Um, cow meat was a little hard to come by where I grew up.”

“Oh, of course, I forgot. The 1,000-count assassin used to be little more than a peasant.”

Caz gritted his teeth.

“A sip of her is like having an entire filet mignon, I swear,” he continued. “You sure you’re not interested? Dopo tutto questo tempo, te dovete essere o affamati di lei o arrapati per lei.”

“Vai a farti fottere, Giuseppe.”
