IT'S THE SPOOKY MONTH, TIME FOR SPOOKY HORSES!!

Two new Faemon added! :D Meet Coltergeist and Lightmare! The line is based on one of my favorite horse breeds, the Irish Cob! Lightmare was the first of the two I came up with, with a design concept of moving patterns in the shape of ghosts. Finding new ways to translate horse breeds into compelling creatures for a fantasy setting has been one of my favorite challenges of this dex as the huge horse nerd that I am 😂

Some pre-evolutions I designed for the other Legendary Warriors from Digimon Frontier.

Faemon is the rookie warrior of wind. She is an effeminate butterfly/fairy with balloon pants. Drawing breasts on her is forbidden, but flowers and grass braids are welcome. Her name comes from "fae", another term for "fairies", and is derived from her adult/champion level, Fairymon.

Kriegmon is the rookie warrior of thunder. He's a spunky little cybernetic beetle with access to unstable amounts of energy. His name derives from "blitzkieg", an intense method of warfare involving speed, surprise, and powerful attacks on the enemy. It is also a play on the name of his adult/champion level, Blitzmon.

Cubmon is the rookie warrior of ice. He's designed after Japanese preschool outfits of rain hats and rain boots, as well as possessing a color palette of primary colors.

Halbermon is the rookie warrior of darkness. His design is a foil to Strabimon, with lion-influence rather than wolf. Though not bound by blood, he loves him like a brother, and their bond is still very strong. His name comes from the german word for "hallow" in "All Hallow's Eve" or "Halloween".

I had a dream about a week and a half ago and I decided to draw it

It was a fun experience to say the least.

Also the Prince and his people were more of a cross between fae and demons, but I decided to use fae in the comic for clarity sake.

NEW FAEMON ARE HERE!

This line is based on one of my favorite damselfy species, the Beautiful demoiselle. Damselflies are close relatives to dragonflies, as they both belong to the order of "Odonata". Damselflies however are much smaller than most dragonflies, with more slender bodies and capable of fully folding their wings over their abdomen.

The beautiful demoiselle is a rare species due to its very narrow habitat requirements. Its larvae can only thrive in natural bodies of waters, which have become exceedingly rare with how little untouched nature there is left in Europe. I am very proud to say I have found a spot in Germany where the species is still thriving and I hope more creeks and rivers will become clean enough again for them to expand their territories in the future.

They look like gorgeous gems and when they fly you could mistake them for butterflies or silently fluttering fairies, shimmering in blues and greens over the water.

With this line of Faemon I'm also introducing my own typing system :D I'll revamp previous entries with the new types and do another post on it once I've created a cleer sheet of the typing advantages / disadvantages.

A whole new family of FAEMON are here!!

I came up with entirely new Faemon lore and now I pretty much have to update all my previous dex entries, oh boy… that's gonna be a task for another time, maybe I'll straight-up reupload some of my previous mons once I changed them 😂

ANYWAY this line is obviously based on the myth of creatures such as the Jackalope and its European counterpart, the Wolpertinger! Although while Jackalopes are clearly defined to be hares with fangs and antlers, Wolpertingers can be pretty much any mixture of animals, you will find some pretty freaky examples of taxedermy if you'll google them 😂 The depiction of an antlered hare with wings and fangs is the most popular one though.

MORE PONY FAEMON!!!

Everyone: "Eleanor how many more horses do you want in your Faemon project" me: "Yes."

FUN FACT I was tHIS👌 close to naming this whole project FAEMOUNT instead of Faemon because of the vast amount of ridable Faemon I wanted to design - back then I had started this design challenge with an own "monster-capturing meets horse-riding"-game concept in mind 😂 But since I'm no game designer I settled on "Faemon" for now and am thinking about a story for this world instead, maybe write a novel for it one day once I finished the dex 👀 We'll see!

A new pair of FAEMON ARE HERE! This time around we have a couple based on Fireflies! More precisely, based on Lamprohiza splendidula, found in Germany, where it's known as "Kleiner Leuchtkäfer" (translates to "Little Glowbug").

Little Glowbugs have a rather short lifespan compared to other Fireflies, especially the males only live for about a week and are unable to eat. They put the vast majority of their energy into their light to communicate and attract females. This, together with their appearance inspired the idea of a ghost/undead firefly. What's unique about their appearance is their see-through head-shield, which from underneath looks a bit like the collar of a coat:

Females (bottom right) can glow too, actually far more prominent than the males! Their white larvae body reminded me of a frill dress, and the idea of a Mask ball-themed duo was born!

These designs were so much fun to work on, I hope you enjoy them as well!! :D I MIGHT design a first stage baby for them one day, but for now I'm happy to share these two as the enchanted couple they are!
