Everyone: "Eleanor how many more horses do you want in your Faemon project"
me: "Yes."
FUN FACT I was tHIS👌 close to naming this whole project FAEMOUNT instead of Faemon because of the vast amount of ridable Faemon I wanted to design - back then I had started this design challenge with an own "monster-capturing meets horse-riding"-game concept in mind 😂 But since I'm no game designer I settled on "Faemon" for now and am thinking about a story for this world instead, maybe write a novel for it one day once I finished the dex 👀 We'll see!

PaléoDex #0001 - Pikiyoi, the Transparent Pokemon!
One of the oldest known Pokémon in the fossil record, Pikiyoi is a very simple creature, with few organs to speak of, and only one life stage. Dating back to the Spiculan Period (~500 Ma), numerous fossils seem to indicate that it was quite common, with the most common consensus being that they were social Pokémon with similarities to the modern Pokémon Pikachu. The original discoverers, therefore, believed that the two shared a close ancestor-descendant relationship. However, subsequent discoveries revealed that the Pokémon had only superficial similarities, including the cheek-like structures that store electrical charge. These are not derived characteristics, but convergently evolved ones, with Pikiyoi's being similar in function and far more primitive in structure. Some have theories that Pikachu's own cheek pouches are actually an atavistic throwback, resurrecting this dynamic adaptation for a stronger and more prominent function.
Based on Fossil Resurrection, many things have been discovered about Pikiyoi, including its closer relationship to the Tynamo line than most other Pokémon. Additionally, we now know that these aquatic Pokémon are quite shy and solitary, and can import a decent charge to predators with its stored electricity. As planktonivores, they have a simple physiology and metabolism that scientists are still unraveling. Many scientists have also compared it to members of the Solosis line, to which it is quite similar in physiological and anatomical limitations.
Hello! I've been taking a pretty extended break from Pokémon artwork and Fakémon crafting in recent days (lots of life stuff), but I'm starting this new project slowly and steadily with this creation! As for what the project is: In the PaléoDex (yes, the accent is unnecessary, but fun), we focus not on a region in space, but several throughout time! Imagine if, in the world of Pokemon, an old technology was refined…and perfected. Rather than restoring fossils with portions of their mineralization kept in tact through their typing, here we assume a true Fossil Resurrector exists. Now, not only can we see extinct Pokemon as they were in the ancient past, but we can also see several new Pokemon that could never be put through the Restoration process. Ichnofossils, imprints, eggs, etc. now have the possibility of being seen. Thus, we begin as far back in time as we can go: ~500 Ma, in the Spiculan Period (equivalent to our Cambrian period).
So, stay tuned for more from the PaleoDex, and let me know if there are any species you’d like to see!

#0002 - Jellucigen, the Deceptive Pokémon!
#0003 - Pseudacith, the Weird Wonder Pokémon!
#0004 - Mendraking, the WonderKing Pokémon!
I... can't begin to tell you how hard it was... to make it not just look LIKE A PLATYPUS!!! This fakemon water starter evolution had to be both identifiable as a platypus pokemon but also like Perry the platypus!
I do not envy Fakemon or Pokemon artists for their job lol
Didn't think I stopped making Fakemon did you? Nah, I was just being lazy about turning them into sprites.
While Fragments won't feature any canon Pokemon, I made an exception for this convergent(?), meet Anguisc and its evolution, Heartdrake.
I imagine it'd be quite tricky to evolve, but such fearsome beasts can only be tamed by those with the stone-coldest hearts. These two in particular might have some relevance to a certain group present within the Keistan Region. 👀 Count on seeing them soon!
The Fakemon I designed for that one Pokemon Collab I hosted where me and 17 other artists designed our gym leaders.
I'll be leaving here the full playlist in case you want to check out some new artists. It's more than 3 hours of content so that might be good if you want some background noise too.
some recent fakemon designs
Info for the nerds ↓↓↓
Zattuzaur line: The pseudo-legendary line of Gado. Their electrified insides are visible from the outside, giving the look of a Lava Lamp. They love to swim, but weaken their electrical output to not harm any other aquatic life
Diratooth line: The cute and relatively small young forms of this line tricked many amateur trainers. Its final evolution is known to be hostile and unpredictable, and even experienced trainers have trouble keeping it under control
Excavice line: All three stages of Excavice are commonly seen around Gado's cities along with the Mammothor line. Excavice easily breaks down thick ice that has froze onto the roads, dispersing it back into the air as snow
Concretean line: A very laid-back Pokemon, Concretean used to actually look completely different before humans settled in Gado; as well as its younger formes. It found the roads to be a nice portable home for itself
Hooviathan: An Ultra Beast with three independent heads. It sees everything in the normal dimension as food, aggressively chasing whatever is small enough to fit in its mouths
Maladance: An Ultra Beast covered head to toe in beautiful, yet fatally venomous quills. When prey or an opponent is spotted, it curls the quills at the end of its tail and on its back into spirals to put the prey into a trance. Before shooting the quills out and into the Pokemon
Swelvious: An Ultra beast that lays in the ground, acting as a cave. It cannot see through the eyes on its head, but the tongue eye can see. The psychic powers manipulate any prey into thinking its tongue hand is its favourite meal, before grabbing the unsuspecting Pokemon to devour whole
Venemur: An Ultra Beast that is more of a pest than a danger. Its sticky, yet sweet residue it leaves behind attracts all bug type pokemon, whether big or small. For an alien Pokemon, it its quite docile compared to the others.
