Finally, after his long arduous search he finally found the fabled fountain of the faeries. Specifically the fountain of knowledge, it was mystical in nature, obvious for it’s namesake of being home to a great number of fairy creatures. At least that’s what he was told.
Approaching the fountain which from its center bubbled a seemingly infinite supply of water yet never overflowing, truly a marvelous work of nature, though the fountain didn’t look like it was man made but there was distinct markings of marble.. Hand moving along the surface his hand reached down and touch the water, it felt just the same as any other water he’d touched before, save for a small hint of energy flowing into him. It could have been his imagination but he could swear he heard the small flutter of wings, but saw nothing.
Hands scooping up the water he held it up about to drink it, would this taste like any normal water? Curiosity getting the better of him the water almost ran down his throat but the sight of several small flying creatures descending down around him took far more precedence than drinking some dumb old water, that’d probably kill him.
Fingers gently nudged the little things as they playfully circled him before leaving for no apparent reason. Honestly that alone was enough to make this trip worth it.
