faewoodsman replied to your post: “Hm... newbie question for Kemetic Polytheists: When I make a food...”:
I asked a friend of mine who is working to become a priest in the Kemetic Orthodoxy, his answer was, "Essentially: Immediately after giving it to the shrine. Unless a god says "Throw it away" or "Wait X amount of time"In the Kemetic Offerings, unless your offering is for Akhu, or you are told not to eat it, you can eat it immediately, because it leaves it's essence for the Gods and they have taken it when you have finished leaving it on the shrine for a moment."
Oh interesting! ... that isn’t what I did tonight haha. But good to know it can be immediately after offering ^_^b
I've heard you talk about WoD a bit from time to time, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on whether you prefer Classic or New and why?
I prefer Chronicles of Darkness, aka New.
I have a special spot in my heart for cWoD, because it’s why I have MK (her dad and I met at a Vampire LARP in 1995), and why I’m married to @dadhoc (we met on a WoD MUSH in 2000 and played Changelings together) and so on, and it made the basis on which CofD exists, but the Seriously Problematic stuff in cWoD is a wincepile still, I find the mechanics much more stilted than CofD, and I really, really love some of the thematics in CofD.
I love Lost so much more than Dreaming, with its ‘becoming an adult is THE WORST, you can’t possibly remain creative in your late twenties or beyond!’ (Boy, that’s a weird look for those of us who wholeheartedly embraced that in the 90s and are now in our forties and fifties... )
I love Ascension, but I got really really worn out on BUT MY PARADIGM SAYS I CAN in the 90s, and I love the universal paradigm of Awakening.
Nothing’s perfect, and if someone prefers cWoD, I’m not gonna tell them they’re The Worst. It’s just my preference.
Wanted to say thanks for the link explaining the Síneadh Fada since I'm learning Gaeilge and haven't been able to find a ton of grammar lessons (Duolingo teaches by letting you figure out the grammar which is helpful sometimes and hindering at others). It's been a huge boon knowing exactly how to pronounce the vowels with a fada instead of just memorizing how each word sounds.
Pleased to have been of assistance!
I don’t speak Irish myself, but (a) it was too good a joke to pass up and (b) the link seemed as useful as when I learned vowels-with-umlaut in Standard German sounded (ish) as if there’s an audible ‘eh’ after them; not perfect, but far better than ignoring the umlaut entirely.
I nearly included the “be careful” difference between cáca “cake” and caca “poop” but managed to restrain myself... :-D
I really love the Hero Cafe story, do you have any plans to continue it? I'd love to see what happens when Chat Noir actually thanks Marinette, especially with how Stunned she already was about it all when she was Ladybug.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I agree this has a LOT of potential for fun.
This was an utterly random story that I threw together with no planning. And as such, I didn’t really plan for sequels or additional chapters. If I were a normal person, we would just have to be content with it as is. I am not normal, so the likelihood of it staying a one-shot, however, is statistically very, very low.
Of my 130 stories on AO3 (holy crap I hadn’t realized I’d written so much), 6 are ATLA and 124 are MLB. Of the ATLA stories, 2 are one-shots. Of the MLB stories, only 11 are one-shots, though many of them started life as one-shots, such as my BAMF Marinette series. I’m not good at one-shots. I’m a serial novelist at heart.
So this is a long-winded way of saying, I can’t guarantee anything, I’m not even going to pretend that I will beat those odds this time ‘round. :)
It had been so long that I has almost entirely forgotten about the Where the Devils are AU and holy shit am I so glad you did another chapter. It's honestly one of my favourite MLB AUs and I'm so happy to have even one more chapter, thank you so much!
I’ve actually updated it four times in the past week and a half! So if you only saw the most recent chapter and haven’t read anything since July 2018, you might have missed a few chapters!
This was seriously such a nice ask, I’m so glad you like this AU. It means so much to me to know that people are interested in this and excited to see more of it <3<3<3
I've hit the "weird cravings" part of HRT, so here I am, for the second time in two days. Just drinking soy sauce mixed with siracha out of a tea cup. I'm gonna go make a store run tomorrow and stock up on noodle dishes. Need me some LO MEIN.
I havent had any particularly weird cravings actually....unless you count downing a bag of popcorn by myself a weird craving
I saw you reblog an MTG post, and was wondering if you play MTG:A? I'm always looking for more people to play with!
I dont actively play it, but I do have an account that has cards and stuff. I used to be more active on MtG: O, but I just kinda fell out of it. Still love playing paper though
