I’m sorry :( it’s always so disappointing when that happens. I won’t say you’re too good for them bc I know that doesn’t help, especially if it was your dream job, but it does suck. I’m sure you’ll reach your dream job someday though, you’re already so accomplished.

One day, hopefully. And it’s not like I have a bad job now. I mean, I know people who’d dream of a tenure-track R1 job right out of grad school. So, I’m trying to count my blessings and say, “Okay, it’s okay. There will be other opportunities.” But I’m also keeping my eyes on the prize. 

I’m going to turn the field upside-down, damn it.

Yuri want to punch him in the stomach, because he can hear the smug practically seeping out of Flynn’s words.

I’d been a whole years since the two of them had seen each other, and even if they kept in contact, it wasn’t the same. So Yuri was beyond happy when the they could finally meet again…but there was one little hiccup he wasn’t excepting. 

For the longest time he and Flynn had been the same height, and it was something that never bothered. That was until Flynn came back a whole head taller than him. It was jarring, and not just for him. Apparently Flynn hadn’t noticed the change, and as Yuri began to spend time with him, he couldn’t help but notice a smugness begin to overtake his old friend. 

He’d reach for things that Yuri couldn’t, stand next to him like he was making sure the difference in height was apparent, and he’d snicker every now and then. Honestly, Yuri wanted to sock him. 

“No…I’m fine,” Yuri says through gritted teeth.

Snatching the peanut butter from one of the shelves in the cabinet, Yuri vows to give Flynn hell for the rest of his stay.

mine was also around that, and I'm about to finish my masters program. so don't worry too much anon. just have a good explanation for it and strong statements/references/etc.

Here you go, anon. One of the sharpest minds in Psychology had around a 3.4 GPA. 

You’re going to be okay, I promise. (And you can of course hit us up for more application advice; ‘s what I’m here for... well, that and writing all sorts pointless fiction and head!canons, but, like, I *am* a writer in my professional capacity and all writing is *technically* professional development?)

I have never had a doubt in my mind that you were absolutely gorgeous. it’s hard to believe we met clear back when I was a teenager and was an absolute mess. also, there are a billion eyeliner tutorials far better than anything I could ever accomplish, but I will gladly take that compliment.

Oh fuck, now *I'm* blushing.... damn you, V. Not fair! I cause the blushing around here! <3 . . Also, I never thought you were a mess. Even all those years ago, I was always staggered by how level-headed and warm you were. I don't think you had a moody teenager phase. I'm sure that I'm still going through my moody teenager phase, TBH. . . I remember we used to ping each other on FF (before I got a tumblr) and talk about how to write our respective stories. What would be IC? Or how might we characterize X or Y in any given situation? We bonded over our two boys. And it's been a delight talking to you about anything and everything ever since.

Yeah, I’m deeply confused by the fandom’s love of him. I mean, I have some problematic faves, but Izaya has *zero* redeeming qualities in my opinion.

My friend just got harassed for entering a relationship with his now-husband at 14 so nope. Fuck you, you're still a bad person. You were probably groomed into thinking you could have sex at 13.

Damn. (My at-the-time 15 year-old boyfriend did manipulate me with, “If you love me...” And I was too young and stupid and I thought I needed to prove my love. But yeah, I’m a really shitty person because of that.)
