Cinnamoroll doll complete! Another Sanrio FailFix done! I havent had a lot of time this month for dolls so I'm happy I reached my goal and got her done before the end of the month
Reposted from my Insta, it’s a store display for the FailFix line of dolls. I remember seeing this in the target near me but I don’t know exactly where this one comes from.
Either way, with a bit of restoration it’ll be a super cool addition to my personal collection!
So I got these girls recently... Can't keep myself from looking at EQG listings!
They wouldn't fit in my collection shelves as is, so I adjusted things a bit. Here's how they look today.
Look at my doll I painted her shoes
2Dreami cleaned up very nicely, although her hair still has mild pink and blue staining - not very good for a doll whose entire gimmick was being packaged with chalk pastels that were supposed to wash out. I like how it looks though, and her hair is softer than kawaiiQT, on the whole I think she’s the nicest of the line. I love her sweet not-quite-sad smile.
I think her eyeliner and blush look could be a bit toned down and less pink, to stop her looking quite so much like she has terrible hayfever.
Who fits? Part 1
I know I'm not the only one who was curious as to who can fit the hello kitty and friends outfits and whod be a good rebody option
I'm gonna start this list by availability of the doll body itself
Fail fix
The failfix dolls are pretty similar in shape to the original body! My failfix has floppy knees but if you're doesn't they'll probably be able to stand with the shoes alone.
Failfix seems to have the right skin tones for the HnF dolls
Boxy girls
Shirt is a little loose and the shoes don't look great from the back but for how cheap boxy girls are and how many different outfits they have its be a good choice if you want your HnF doll to have a big closet. Boxy girls also have the exact skin tones needed for a rebody.
Cave Club
Shoes def do not fit but I wasn't expecting them too tbh. The outfit looks awesome on these dolls, tho it'll be harder to skin match with them, plus the lack of other clothes n shoes option.
Ever after high
Outfit looks cute! Shoes are passible.
Bodies (knockoff and legit) can easily be found on aliexpress and ebay and have skin tones to match plus a large selection of other outfits.
Snapstars
Honestly my favorite body but the lack of skin matches plus having to mod the ball neck makes em lower on my list. These bodies have been popping up more on aliexpress (i havent check ebay)
Toy companies really be like "what if..... we ripped off woc and hoped nobody noticed or the original creators are too poor to take legal action 🤔🤔"
A new line of dolls from Moose Toys has been announced.
They are called Fail Fix, from Papusilemele on Instagram.
It appears based on the width of their knees that there will be at least two body types.
They are pretty cute and kinda remind of of MGA's new line of articulated Rainbow Surprise (at least I think that is what they are) dolls.
It is nice to see other companies adding more body representation to their lines. Hopefully since they are hair focused they will actually have nice hair.
Unfortunately of course some of the usual doll stereotypes apply (fantasy hair colored Asian coded doll, blonde white doll, etc). I really wish they would put more thought into not incorporating stereotypes...
Edit: I'm just now realizing it looks like the third girl has braids!
