The moment midnight would strike the clock, Elizabeth would the sweetest little kiss to Ciel's cheek and give his hands a squeeze. "Happy New Year, my dear." She would smile, and hand him a blue present rife with ribbons and bows.
Inside, Ciel would find a two little toy bunnies sewn side-by-side, holding hands and wearing pretty dressings. One was blue, and the other was yellow. Both had shiny eyes, and both had a bracelet decorated with glittering blue gemstones wrapped around them like a lasso.
"Perhaps it is an inappropriate gift," Elizabeth murmured, eyes casting away bashfully. "but I saw it and I wanted nothing more than to get it for you. If you don't like it, perhaps you can tell me something you would like! Something you could wear and think of me?"

The New Year would approach and Ciel would be found by a window in the hallway watching the shimmering lights of the village just in the distance on his estate. It was midnight and they were all still awake, perhaps in celebration. Only had he been briefly startled, his attention captured by his dearest cousin who was adamant on returning to visit him, by petal soft, pink lips pressing gently upon his cheek. A hand would then reach for his and give a tender squeeze as he turned to face her, a smile upon his face. Oh how ever sweet she was.
‘ Lizzy. ’
Before he could wish her the same, his eyes would catch the charming little gift box before him as it was offered. It was decorated ever so adorably in only a way that Elizabeth could ever do. He would gratefully accept it, then gently unwrap it to reveal the hidden present within. What he would find would be an endearing set of rabbits dressed for the holiday season.
The Earl would remove it from it's box and spend a moment or two admiring it as Elizabeth spoke. Sapphire optics would lift to meet her emerald gems before they averted his in a demure fashion. There was nothing more that he could have wished from her than something sentimental as that.
‘ Are they meant to be us? What a delightful gift. Thank you, Lizzy. It's ever so kind of you to think of me. Had I known, I would have taken the opportunity to go out and find something for you as well. Happy New Year. ’
