fairweatherfiends replied to your post: you know, sometimes I completely forge...
Y’all are missing out. Personal favorite of mine, though I understand where you are coming from.
it wasn't that I didn't like it, I loved it, but I was listening to the audio book and the guy's voice was really annoying and by the time I got round to buying the actual book I couldn't find a right time to pick it up again :/
I am a big fan of your icon! I don't really know how to explain, it really sticks out!
Thank you! It's actually the cover for one of my absolute favourite albums; Somewhere Under the Rainbow by The Jane Austen Argument, you should definitely check them out ><
The year ends in 8 days.
In eight short days, this bizarre year will come to a close. I believe the last week of any year should be used as a reflection of all the things that have happened, and what the future holds. Remember that heart warming and life changing resolution we promised we would do? Yeah. Neither do we.
Or perhaps there was something else, separate from a resolution, you wanted to get done. A project you wanted to do, a person you wanted to expand a relationship with, anything! It was always just out of reach, just a little to complicated to make real. My friends there is still time, plenty of time. Be that better person, the only thing that ever really stops us, is us.
Or perhaps... You will treat this last week like we all will. Being lazy, opening presents and being merry before the trees come down and the strange modern mutilations of classic Christmas songs disappear from the radio stations and stores, returning to hibernation for another year. And just as you did last year, and as you will do next year, you make a solemn vow to yourself to be more productive in the near future.
Besides, who wants to reflect?
No one.
If you don't think outside the box...
Then my dear I do believe you are a square.
To my wonderful followers:
I'm afraid the last few days have been a buzz, and to anyone who has been expecting a daily story only to be dissapointed, you have my sincerest apologies.
It is unfortunate when work gets in the way of fun, but it does happen. And when work completely takes over fun, it makes it very hard to do what I enjoy. I will try to get back on a good schedule over the next few days. I appreciate everyone being patient.
Long Live the King!
Jimmy's calculator has demons in it.
He's seen them, lurking about. Jimmy's a smart kid, he's known since a young age that the calculator his parents gave him was possessed by something evil. After all, how many calculators randomly multiply answers by 666, or cause homework to erupt in flames. Especially when it's geometry. The demons can't stand geometry.
Not that anyone believes Jimmy. Demons? In a calculator? How ridiculous! They laugh at Jimmy, calling him names. But he knows. Jimmy understands the greater workings of life, and he understands his calculator is prime demon possessing material. Not that he'll tell anyone why that is. No one would believe him anyway.
Help.
I'm currently lost in a maze. I fail to recall the events leading up to this moment but I am stuck in what appears to be a maze. The walls are made of pure stone, they look freshly placed. Due to my terrible sense of direction I'm not sure when I'll be getting out... So I've taken some time to sit down and write.
The maze is making me think. I'm not sure what about, just life in general. We all have those moments. No revelations are made, no life changing decisions generated, but you just... ponder. You think about all the choices you've made, and how they've all landed you right here right now. If you think about it, there are infinite choices made by both you and everyone else in the world that have landed you where you are at this moment. Think of all the people that have indirectly influenced you today alone!
It's interesting then, to think about how your life would be different if you, and solely you influenced everything that happened in your life. What would be different? Would it be something large? Would you be a better person or a worse person? It would be sad if that were the case. If no one influenced anybody else. I am a firm believer in needing other people to obtain happiness. Some people can do it without others, and I respect them for it. But it's not for me. I can say that for sure.
Take some time tomorrow, or the next day, and consider all the people who influence your life. Whether they take the time to talk to you, or even if they just catch your eye as you're walking along your way. If they hadn't passed you, your life would be that much different. Isn't that magical?
Long Live the King.
