So I won a commission with @fairykam during @aerinmelina‘s quiz game and guys, it’s so stunning. She did amazing and I love it so much. Kendra is brilliant, look at the wings she did, the clothes are on point, and the crown- I just love it all.

Time for more Gorgeous Artwork and an AU

I commissioned @fairykam to make some art for me from her beautiful hands. The idea? Bracken and Kendra as Aragorn and Arwen:

Okay, first off, I WANNA SCREAM AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THESE ARE.

*I’m sure you hear this awful, high-pitched squealing somewhere off in the distance — that is me*

Now for the meta, shall we?!

First off, I’m going to list the traits of Aragorn and Arwen, then I’m going to compare those traits to Bracken and Kendra, and lastly I’m going to squeal some more about this art and hopefully wrap up this (inevitably) long post with something coherent which wraps all of this together, and yes I’m going to color coordinate this stuff bc hello visuals:

Aragorn

Brave Leader

Compassionate

Huge destiny which he is at times hesitant about (ok often not just sometimes), but he eventually comes into his own

Humble

Probably running from his past

Swordsman, archer, sings, speaks Elvish... the man possesses hidden talents

Protective of anyone in his care, especially those who cannot defend themselves

Mortal, although his bloodline was “infected” by Magic so he had a prolonged (but still mortal) life

Excellent motivational speaker (lolol)

Willing to die for The Cause, but sure as hell will go down fighting

“Seems like a fighter but is actually soft”

Takes losses hard. He genuinely cares about the people around him.

Perpetually Exhausted

Arwen

Strong with the Magic™️ (did you SEE her drive back like all 9 friggin ringwraiths after beating them in a horse race?!?!?)

Willing to trade her immortality in order to remain with her love

Daughter of a man (elf) who is a recognized leader and was also tainted by darkness but rejected it (btw Elrond is honored by the other elves, and he lives with them and loves them, but he just... doesn’t quite seem to fit in with the others the way he did before the first war with Sauron)

Perpetually beautiful (she’s an elf; she can’t help it)

Will Not Tolerate Your BS

Now let’s assign the above traits to Bracken and Kendra (ahh, we see how the color coordination helps!):

As you can see, Bracken and Kendra are a very good mix of both Aragorn and Arwen, with some particularly striking similarities. IMO, Aragorn/Arwen is aged-up Brackendra.

NOW TO THE ART!

I couldn’t decide whether Bracken or Kendra should be Aragorn or Arwen, because they’re both a pretty good mixture of each character, hence why I commissioned two pieces.

Also, if you don’t know which scene this is from, it’s when Arwen had an injured Frodo on horseback, about to race the entire Ringwraith crew to safety. Spoiler alert: she won. Spectacularly.)

To sum up: Bracken and Kendra are foils of Aragorn and Arwen.

Also, this last point remains to be seen, but I have a feeling it may happen eventually...

Bracken for ya'll!

"All Kendra had seen was a teenage boy who looked a couple of years older than her. His silver-blond hair, boyishly handsome features, flawless skin, and penetrating eyes hinted at his true identity." Dragonwatch Pg. 20.

I feel like Kendra can't possibly end up with a normal, human guy. Verl, Gavin, Bracken, Garreth, like what even? she's bound to end up immortal at this rate because each boy that she had anything with was.

Also to all the people saying that Bracken and Kendra have an inappropriate relationship. I get that Bracken is 1000s of years older than her, but he is still a child compared to most magical creatures, his species simply ages differently. He has the body of a teenager, the brain as a teenager, etc. It's like saying that any other book series where the love interest is some ancient creature/human is also innapropriate which I must say is quite a lot of Rick Riordan's books also. Kendra and Bracken aren't even in an official relationship, and if Bracken were to get a human drivers licence or papers, it would say 16-18 years old. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Photoshop November 2018: I have been dying to post this birthday present for almost 2 weeks now. It was supposed to have been done for her birthday last year, but I wasn’t able to complete it. Hi I am so sorry I haven’t opened tumbler in a LONG TIME. I have been crazy busy and I’ve been learning and doing so much.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am so grateful for all the sweet messages and requests. 💕

I am sorry to say that I am currently not taking requests. I am doing school full time, working, and I am on a team making a short film, so I haven’t found time to do any fun drawing.

So I guess this post is just a thank you and an apology for not being active. And also an apology because I don’t see myself becoming more active on tumblr in the future.

How many times have I drawn Kendra “glow-in-the-dark” Sorensen and Seth “idiot-points” Sorensen? Too many to count, but I just can’t stop! I just love them so much!!!
