I failed. I disappeared with that house. That's where my memories stop. For all I know, Gary did as he pleased after that. The end. Damnatio Memoriae. And yet, despite it all… Here I am. Reborn, again and again and again. Perhaps this is His will, His mercy. Second, third, fourth chances, and so on.
I'm not sure if I believe in Him anymore. Wouldn't matter if I did. Even if I think God(s) exist, I don't worship like that anymore.
If the old me could see into his other lives, even this current one, I'm sure he'd hate them. He'd view them all as a bizarre punishment from God, for his failures. But I don't believe that. At the end of the day, that's what matters. I am no longer a priest. My faith may no longer be in Him, but I will not lose it again. His blessing or not, I will continue to come back. I will choose life, again and again and again. Because life is beautiful.
