Hey, so about the Fake!Avery headcanons... :3
I imagine that he sometimes forgets which way his hands are meant to turn, so he occasionally ends up with his palms on the back of his hands or stuff. Like, when he walks with his arms by his sides, his palms will sometimes be facing outward. Once he makes a thumbs-up at Derek, and Derek realizes that the back of his hand is facing inward (not physically possible when you make a thumbs-up, try it). I imagine hands in general would give him a lot of trouble, since they've got lots of moving parts and are annoying to replicate.
On a more lighthearted note, I think he would get confused between right and left! Like that one meme about how Avery doesn't know his lefts or rights, but actually for real, because Fake!Avery doesn't get how the real world works... Derek has to teach him that trick about making an "L" with his hands but even that doesn't work because his hands are so wonky sometimes.
I also think it would be fitting if he had some sort of connection to mirrors, just because he is essentially a reflection of Avery... Specifically I think that he wouldn't have a reflection of his own. Derek looks in the mirror one day and Fake!Avery is just not there. Very creepy, very vampire-coded.
Sorry if this got too long, lolz. There are a few more ideas, but that's most of the thoughts that I had! I am taking a bite out of your AU btw.
omg omg omg these are so cool!!!!! :D The part about his hands is amazing. It makes me wonder if something like that can also happen to his fingers or even his nails. Like, he'll wave at Derek, only for his fingers to to appear backwards, or his fingernails appearing on the opposite side. I remember a while back I had a thought about him occasionally missing joints in his fingers, specifically his thumbs. There's so many possibilities for Fake!Avery to be "wrong" when it comes down to his hands. The left and right thing is so fun too :D I think Derek would try to write the directions on each his hands (L on his left, R on his right,) only for them to disappear because of Fakevery's Weird Limbs. And his reflection! Vampire coded Fake!Avery is so cool. Imagine how freaked out Derek probably is when he notices it. I had a few thoughts abt how Fake!Avery's reflection would work, but I've just never executed and/or shared them. Part of me likes to think that his reflection looks completely normal to himself, as if he's actually Avery, which would add to why he doesn't notice his "imperfections" as much or as quickly as Derek does.
