Derek with red and gold loc sprinkles but Avery helps him put them in because handling the needle for too long hurts Derek's hands.

bonus points if they have matching hairclips of their MC avatars. Derek has Avery's slime guy, and Avery has Derek's knight.

More Souls and Screens thoughts.

Derek can “play” the games on Avery’s computer, often treating them like worlds of their own. What does this mean if he finds the gates in every universe?

I touched on it in one of the fics, but I like to think that the gates exist in every game Derek plays, he just has to search hard enough.

Some are more obvious than others, and upon opening them the computer just crashes, unable to be turned back on for hours.

Imagine Avery just sitting in front of a black screen, thinking that he’s somehow lost Derek for a second time.

Imagine a sprite version of Fake!Avery. A hodgepodge of other game sprites with a green/yellowish tint to it. It stumbles across the desktop with no purpose whatsoever.
