I got a surge of insp after looking at this dragon in front of the Lübeck Museum of Theatre Puppets. I wish we had this kind of chunky classic dragon breed in Flight Rising, so I present my idea, Fabula!

Left pose has curlier hairs, and right pose as pointer straighter hairs, but otherwise, no dimorphism really.

The furtive Sylvan dragons have lived in the jungles and gardens of the Viridian Labyrinth since the first days of dragonkind, using their dexterous claws, prehensile tails, and magical aptitude to assist in the caretaking of trees and plants. Small in stature, able to meld invisibly into the canopy, and naturally wary of attention, the Sylvans were once easily overlooked. The sudden changes in a forest (or a dragon clan's vegetable garden) that they brought about in secret were often the source of stories and superstition. Eager to spread their gardening talents throughout Sornieth, these gregarious dragons have ventured out of the safety of the forests and jungle and into the open for the first time.

Made one of my "small arboreal creature" nature ancient ideas into a "real" fake breed! They're the size of a flying fox and are like secretive garden gnomes lol. Many thanks to @deer-rising for making many of the genes, which are listed in the alt text (FR hire her!!)

OK !!! last minute wild, unfinished hopes and dreams are a GO

i’m pretty sure now that the breed isn’t going to end up looking quite so sea-serpent-ey, or leviathan-esque from the silhouette (looking rather.... broad and flat instead? i’m thinkin’ manta dragon)

but that won’t stop me for hoping for a giant prehistoric toothy lad. in my heart of hearts water deserves hydrodynamic sea monsters ok
