Saw this Absolute Beast on instagram and was wondering I you had any clue?

I looked at this quickly this morning and thought it’d be a relatively easy ID because it’s so distinctive but this was actually a tough one.

All my guesses, something else in the image discounts them: mole cricket, stonefly, dobsonfly, dragonfly, etc.

Then I started to look closer and realise there’s something up with this bug. It has “claws” which are very like a mole crickets, but in a mole cricket, those claws are it’s modified front legs. You probably know an insect has 6 legs. However, this one appears to have its “claws”, and then 6 normal insect legs. So, it has 8 legs and therefore isn’t an insect? (Though it certainly has traits like one). The wings are also incredibly weird, particularly the hind wings. They just… wouldn’t connect to the body like that. The eyes are also pretty weird. It looks like it has 4 eyes total and the antennae are coming out of some of those eyes? And why do the mandibles look like that? They have a very gummy and rounded look… It just keeps adding up that this isn’t a real bug.

So, I don’t know enough to tell if this is AI or a very good photoshop or what but I’m 95% sure this image is a fake.
