It's common for Cubone to remove most of the teeth from a skull while prepping it into a helmet. Nobody's totally sure why, but scientists speculate it's to decrease the risk of injury or reduce the noise that would be caused by loose teeth rattling in their sockets. We often remove them ahead of time to increase the likelihood the Cubone will accept the skull quickly, so we always have a healthy supply of teeth lying around.

Hello, all.

I'm sorry for the recent lack of posts..it's been pretty bad at the Refuge this past week.

I have been encouraged to halt this blog. We suffered an attack last weekend—I can't get into the details because it's still an open investigation, but I can say that it broke my heart.

They have conclusive proof the perpetrator discovered Helios through this blog, which has shaken me to my core. The idea that any of the wonderful people I've met on here could do this...

Nonetheless, I've elected to keep this blog active, but no information about the Refuge, its employees, or its residents—including our Inkay—will be forthcoming any longer. If you'd like to visit, donate, apply for adoption, or become a candidate for foster, please contact us through our official website: heliosrefuge.org

It saddens me to have to do this. I have greatly enjoyed being able to share the joy we experience here at Helios caring for and rehabilitating Pokémon. It is my hope that the person who committed this atrocity will soon be caught, and this community safe once more.
