Homeopathy is The One Quackery To Rule Them All. The same is true all over the world. It's also true that the preferred tactic of homeopaths and other quacks is to try to suppress criticism of their quackery, not to answer it with science. During Homeopathy Awareness Week, I present an example of this in France.

Two links in English about what has been happening in France lately about “Fake Medicines”
You think Big Pharma rules the world ?
Look at the numbers of Boiron. Look at how they react and above all how they are defended by EVERYONE when a little number of doctors (124) speak up against them.
I don’t want the money I give the state through taxes to go into the pockets of a big firm who sells sugar beads sprayed with “agitated” water and can do potentially more harm than good.(Yo, state ? I don’t want it to go into bombs either. But that’s another subject for another time, I guess)
Oscillococcinnum (Boiron’s “flu remedie”) is sold by pharmacists as “homeopathic vaccine”
Meaning people happily take this inneficient bead of sugar that was spraid with water that, a number of dilutions equalling to one glass of water in the Atlantic ocean ago, used to contain ONE drop of water that was in contact with the mold growing on the heart of a domestic muscovy duck, they take this, and they think they are protected from the flu. And they don’t get the real vaccines because vaccines causes autism, of course (*this is sarcasm yet what many French people think, thank you so much Wakefield and US mom bloggers and whoever else*).
Meanwhile, each year, between 1,500 and 2,000 people die because of the flu in France (Institut Pasteur). With a nice peak estimated at 18 300 surplus (direct and un-direct, like aggravating already present symptoms) deaths in 2014 because of a new strain (H3N2 or H2N3, don’t remember) that the *real* vaccine had not covered. One vaccine works, not always, but when it’s for the right strain it does. The other one is just diluted water on sugar.
Apparently, French people have made their decision since they defend homeopathy en masse (while hitting on a random “Big Pharma” - I always picture the Boiron family rubbing their hands whenever someone invocates Big Pharma). In one way we can only applaud their courage to do something so drastic about the world’s overpopulation problem, don’t you think?
