I wanted to have a Tele like Joe Strummer...but the problem with doing a build on an old guitar is that sometimes you pick the wrong components...and shit components equal later pain. 10 years ago I started rebuilding this mid 80's fake Tele. At the time I bought a bargain bridge and saddle assembly...and kept the strings toploaded because I didn't want to chance doing a bad through body drilling job. Yeah now I am dealing with slipping saddles that won't adjust and are terribly out of spec. Same with the bargain control plate electronics and wiring and the tuning machines. So now I'm looking at a pretty extensive second rebuild just to make it playable. Le sigh... . But here I go...I've ordered a new Wilkinson staggered brass saddle vintage bridge to start...still top loaded, but with body through options. Next comes a new Oak Grigsby pickup switch, CTS pots and Hipshot tuners. The body, overall finish and neck I love on this one, but the electronics and finishings let it down. So not bad for a guitar I payed less than $50 for originally. . . #art #faketele #guitar #sexyobjects #fattyplaysguitar #somethingsomething #year51 #budgetrebuilddisaster #joestrummergoals (at Chateau Ruff-N-Baker) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGnKUq3jjoP/?igshid=tx7hfxg3rv2l
