My sister and I are having our first “real” Christmas ever tomorrow. I put up my tree and decorated it (the tree and decorations were in the attic, left behind by the previous owners when I moved in) and we bought each other multiple gifts and wrapped them all!!! We’ve planned our Christmas breakfast (although, she will be eating lunch for breakfast because she’s been eating one meal a day for the last six months).

We grew up in an orthodox household that was very much against American holidays so this will be special for us. I even decorated my tree like my grandmother used to (she passed away a few years ago). She used plain, good ole, middle class tinsel from the 80s and ornament balls. I seriously got emotional when I, too, dressed up my tree using cliché 80s decorations. 🥲😌
