sorry yall i've been in a very depressed state lately
I just realize there is an EEEK in my company after almost 8 months
i completely forgot that supercorp is one of the definitions of queerbait on wikipedia ;-;
as in, one of THE BIGGEST glaring examples of queerbait
man i was here since faberry bait... but in my eyes, supercorp was one of the worst cases of queerbait i have ever seen.
that and bechloe from pitch perfect.
i'm not over both of those.
and stranger things.
stranger things doesn't feel as bad mainly because i knew full well they're going to lose their balls to commit to a storyline or idea, but it's also egregiously super bad bait.
not even queerbait, just bait. where did the writing go bro ;-;
(i mean tbf supergirl's writing was also on the decline when the show ended, but that was a steady decline that you could see...
stranger things pulled a bait and switch on entire storylines and characterizations and plot developments in the LAST HALF of their FINAL SEASON.
so kinda... kinda cooked.)
and also, stranger things lowkey promoting a horrible message. 'don't confess your feelings to anyone because you'll get rejected!!!!'
mmm. i know it's normal to get rejected, but like, there are better ways to handle said storyline without actively crushing people's hopes. people see themselves in these characters. fiction affects reality a lot more than you think.
like i get you wanna pander to the max audiences possible, but when you're ending the show, you want to give the viewers, whatever little you have of them, the ending they deserve. not pull in new people. you're ending a story. why are you trying to pull in new people when you have people already hooked and watching the story you've already built?
so uhh... in terms of severity...
supercorp feels worse on account of queerbaiting. just the queerbaiting. you could see the writing slowly suck over time, it's not a surprise.
but stranger things had genuinely good storylines. they CAN write good queer scenes, they CAN write things that appeal to the audience that they have. like the whole steve and robin coming out scene. that shit is good!
but stranger things is just worse in all aspects. because i feel like i climbed a rollercoaster high, only to reach the end of the tracks and i'm suddenly plummeting down.
bechloe...
i don't even wanna say anything about bechloe lmao... the ads, the actresses... i think the producers just really pussied out on that one
anyways, cheers. fix-its are what fanfics are for.
there is something terrifying about processing how small you are in the cosmic vastness of the universe
and something beautiful.
can you imagine floating in the vastness of space, the specks of light you see in the sky that you reached out to from the ground of the earth are actually bigger than you are by thousands and thousands of miles.
can you imagine that you are made of the same stuff of stars? that everything in the universe is made of the same building blocks, the elements you learn in the periodic table, this funny little table you learned in school, a simplified version of everything that is and was.
humans reach for the stars without knowing that they are stars themselves. they just haven't learned to shine. but when people shine, you can see it.
a tiny speck, sure, but like stars, you can be seen half a universe away.
yes you are small, yes, you are cosmically insignificant in comparison to the universe
but you live, you breathe, you dream, you shine
and like stars you explode and leave traces of yourself behind
you are small, but you will never be gone. nothing is created nor destroyed, only changed. perhaps you will live on as memory. perhaps your body will break down into spacedust, swirling in the cosmos until you form an actual star.
whatever it is, you will never be gone. no, the vastness does not mean you won't matter, that you will disappear. no, it's the universe saying to you, 'come here, we will always have space for you, no matter what you are.'
and i think that's really neat
When you are waiting for Snk 103 but you are the only one at work in your company’s department IN THIS ENTIRE WEEK
i'm supposed to go to drama today but it is 1.30pm and my body does not want me to get out of bed. fun!
Just wanted to correct you that Achilles is Patroclus' Uncle! Not the other way around – Achilles' elder sister is Patroclus' mother 😭
