Can we talk about Levi’s pocket watch in the last episode??? (I don’t remember it in the manga but I have fish memory)

(Pocket watch anon) forgot to add that I totally headcanon the he got it from Erwin somehow (either as a gift, or Levi kept it after his death)

That’s a lovely headcanon Anon 😭  Levi does indeed have the watch in the manga and in fact this is one of my favourite solo Levi panels in the entire series. 

I could be wrong, but I think this is the *only* time we see someone from Paradis with a watch or a clock.  I guess it’s possible that timepieces are one of the new technologies that Paradis requisitioned from the captured Marley ships.  I prefer your version of events though Anon. I love the idea that the watch belonged to Erwin.  Perhaps it was a treasured heirloom that had once belonged to his father, that he kept locked away in an old leather case with a faded velvet lining.  Maybe he took it out and showed it to Levi when he told him stories about his childhood, about how his father died, of the burden of guilt he had carried since that day, and his determination to prove that his theories had been right all along.  And perhaps when Erwin died Levi kept Erwin’s watch as a memento mori.  It’s too precious to wear every day, but he keeps it clean and wound.  It still keeps perfect time, even after all these years.  Perhaps when he’s alone in his room (their room) Levi takes the watch out from time to time, to feel the weight of it in his hand, the beat of his heart echoing its steady rhythmic tick.  And perhaps when they leave for Liberio, Levi takes the watch with him, in remembrance of Erwin, to bear witness to the fact that he had been right all along.
