THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE (abbreviated TBM) is a Canadian band that fuses elements of new wave, gothic rock, electronic rock and dark wave, formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. When the band first formed they were known as “Imagica”. This name was inspired by the fantasy novel Imajica (1991) by Clive Barker. In 2002, they changed it to The Birthday Massacre after one of their earlier songs in order to avoid confusion with another group. The song “The Birthday Massacre” was then renamed to “Happy Birthday”. According to their vocalist Chibi: "it kind of works well for the music that we're making. Sort of contrasty, you know? Birthday, and massacre. Light, and dark. Cute, and evil.” They have released nine studio albums: Nothing and Nowhere (2002), Violet (2005), Walking With Strangers (2007), Pins and Needles (2010), Hide and Seek (2012), Superstition (2014), Under Your Spell (2017), Diamonds (2020), and Fascination (2022).They also issued the DVD Blue (2005), the live album/DVD Show and Tell (2009), the demo album Imagica, and the EPs Violet (2004), Looking Glass (2008), Imaginary Monsters (2011). Current members: Sara "Chibi" Taylor – lead vocals (1999–present) Michael Rainbow – rhythm guitar, programming, backing vocals (1999–present) Michael Falcore – lead guitar, programming (1999–present) Owen Mackinder – keyboards, keytar (2005–present) Philip Elliott – drums (2018–present) Brett Carruthers – bass, backing vocals (2019–present), live keyboards (fall 2004) I saw them live on March 1st, 2022 and it was my first live show, as well as getting to interact with them during a meet and greet. They are my favorite music group, been listening since 2009 as I became a fan overnight.

I’m a little shy about this but… I believe I am a POSIC beholder. And my Bakugan are my hoarde. I don’t really have a name for them just yet so… I’ll just call them the Bakugan Hoarde! Below the read more is pics of them, their names, pronouns, and what type of Bakugan they are!

This is Percy! He’s a Ventus Percival. He uses he/him and is the oldest of my Percival trio! I just got him yesterday, same with Midnight, and reunited him with Alpha. I’m starting to consider him my current main companion! He’s very talkative and cheerful, especially after being reunited with Alpha.

This is Midnight, the Darkus Midnight Percival! I found him alongside Percy yesterday and he also uses he/him. He’s a bit more broody compared to his elder brother, but is also relieved that they’re now back with Alpha.

Then there’s Alpha, the Alpha Percival! I’ve had him for about a year now. He uses he/they interchangeably. He’s the youngest Percival sibling and used to be fairly quiet, but has become chipper now that he has his brothers back!

These two are twins, Shredder (Left) and Fawful (Right). They’re Darkus and Ventus Fear Rippers! Shredder uses they/he/vam and Fawful uses he/him. I’ve had them for a loooong time and they used to be my main companions, especially Fawful. Shredder likes a lot of emocore like stuff and Fawful is more laid back and relaxed, enjoying listening to lofi music with me!

These two are also twins! They are Daydream (Left) and Nightmare (Right). They’re Haos and Darkus Wormquakes! They both use they/them and have gruff voices. They tend to speak together and at the same time!

And this one is Diavolo the Darkus Diablo Preyas. He just uses he/him! He acts a lot like the Preyas seen in Bakugan Battle Brawlers and is sarcastic, but joking and silly!

This here is Twister, the Haos Spin Dragonoid. Heuses he/him! He no longer spins quite right, but that’s okay! He’s pretty serious, but protective and cares a lot about me and the rest of the hoarde!

This is Exedra! They’re a Darkus Exedra. I don’t know much about them just yet, I obtained them yesterday as well and they’re still a bit quiet!

This here is Ingera! He’s a Ventus Cosmic Ingram! He uses he/him and is good friends with Shredder, because they both love emocore! Ingera loves to try and be cool as he can!

And lastly is Falcore, the Pearl Aquos Falconeer! She uses she/her! She’s our singular Aquos, but doesn’t feel outnumbered. She’s very friendly, especially to Twister. She has a great amount of care for me and the hoarde.

Headcanon time!

All of those 80s movies we know and love take place in the same city. 

Sarah and Toby, along with the Goonies--legendary for their antics--and Sebastian, live in the residential parts. Interacting in groceries stores and stuff, obviously. 

The Outsiders and the Lost Boys roam around the dingier parts of the city (I like to think that they have kind of a friendly rivalry going on, backing each other up while still being a little hesitant of each other). 

They know of each other, not quite knowing the extent of each other’s significance. Sarah and Sebastian bond over their similar adventures, and Bastian eventually introduces her to a certain bookstore keeper. 

Toby grows up, following along the Goonies like a lost puppy. They, begrudgingly, allow it, treating him like a little brother. They take turns regaling him with their battle with Fratellis, each time becoming more stretched than the first. 

David and Dally tip their heads when they meet and if they invite each other out to a bonfire by the beach or two, that’s their business.

i dreamed last night that they turned the Never Ending Story ™ into a netflix anime adaptation, and they turned Falcore into a bitch-dick unhelpful assshole

His redesign was slappin, but his personality was trash and it was such a disappointment
