cinder put her mission before you. her work with salem was too important for her to abandon. but you wanted nothing more than for her to do exactly that, abandon it and join your side instead!
but whenever you tried to persuade her, things ended up in an argument! and this time one without a hot make out session afterwards that made it all worthwhile…
“why do i feel like we're back to the way thing were before we fell in love?” you sighed during a moment of quiet, after cinder and you had yelled at each other for hours
“you're certainly acting just like you used to!” cinder huffed at you. “trying to play the hero when i never asked you to! i always hated that side of you…”
“right…” you scoffed and rolled your eyes. “you never liked me then, why did i believe you'd love me now?”
there was another moment of silence. both you and cinder knew that the second one of you opened your mouth, things could never go back to normal. and while both of you wanted to stay in this moment forever, cinder eventually opened her mouth
