Uhhh, you good? You're kind of... bleeding a bit.
Are your soft sculptures poseable? :0 Or do they just stay in one position? They're very cute regardless- I love the little details, like Ciabatta's glossy face or Sweet Cream's perfectly painted teeth. :3
most of them are poseable since they all have the wire skeleton, but some are not because of either their shape or the material on them. Frogsoup’s neck can be posed a little but mostly she is not posable (and the wire skeleton isn’t the thicker wire I use now so she doesn’t hold a pose as well, mostly she’ll stay in the same pose) Ciabatta and (especially) Sweet Cream are not posable. Ciabatta is a little bit, mostly her limbs but her body can be posed a bit, but Sweet Cream not at all, bc the sheep skin attached to them does not stretch so you can’t really move the parts that have the sheepskin on them (which is all of Sweet Cream hence why she’s not posable lol) Sobaka is pretty posable but her shape is so simple there isn’t much to pose. the most posable sculptures are ones like the borzoi since there’s quite a bit to actually move around and adjust, the body itself is long and thin so it can be adjusted for a sitting or standing or lying down pose, and the limbs and tail are also long and thin so they can be easily bent into different poses too. The suncow and bison sculptures are fairly posable in the limbs and tail (though the limbs are shorter than the zoi’s so the posability is a bit more limited) but their bodies are fairly round and thick and short so they can’t be posed without totally changing the shape they should be.
Hi! I just wanted to say, I love your moomin OCs, and just binged your whole archive to learn about them. :3 I am confused about one thing though- which one is Iris and which one is Mumbler? I know one is the snork and one is the mumrik, but I can't find any posts that actually differentiate which one is which. D:
Aw, thank you! I’d be happy to clarify-- there was a relatively long time before I’d named both of them.
Iris is the snork, and the other one’s the Mumbler!Iris named himself after listening in on some Greek mythology lessons (learning that the domain of the goddess ‘Iris’ was rainbows, and being aware of his color-changing ability), and the Mumbler picked up its name over time due to how it... mumbles.
For the hara no mushi art entries- are you looking for people to submit original bugs, or redraws of existing ones? Or is it either/or? :0 Just want to be sure before I start working on anything.
Anything at all! Fan art of them as-is, redraws, redesigns, originals, anything goes if it’s themed around them!
Wow! :0 How do you find all these shiny pokemon on pokemon go? (Congrats on the Tauros, btw!!) Is there a specific trick you use, or is it really just a matter of clicking on every pokemon you find?
no trick, just luck (especially with the egg hatches). i personally do click on every poke because i’m usually just looking to catch and release for stardust BUT there are a lot of shiny checklists out there
even this one isn’t fully complete (sudowoodo and bonsly obviously missing, for example) but shiny checking only the pokemon who’ve had their shiny forms unlocked can make you feel luckier and make the game more enjoyable.
better yet is you can just skim it and pick out some pokes that you like the look of or see regularly and only shiny check those ones instead of memorizing or carrying around a whole list of them too
Do you ever use 3D models to draw backgrounds, or do you generally eyeball it? :0 I was rereading some of your older comics, and was struck by how impressive the perspective is (Such as the overhead of the chessboard on page 4 of Cross-Check.). The characters are always placed so well in the scenes too!
i eyeball it. sometimes i bother to do the regular perspective methods but i used to do it more before i was more confident in my ability to stylize.i’ve drawn backgrounds and objects like the chess pieces/boards/cars and stuff on stream before, but i don’t know if they got archived or not. but it’s definitely stiffer and slower to line up a shot in a 3d modeler and then trace it than it is to just be able to eyeball from practice or with a few references, and speed is a big personal priority for me artistically.
Hi there! Your post about a 'Toy Story' style RPG game came across my dash, and I've actually read through a small homebrew system (made by one guy in a 21 page pdf) that's almost exactly what you described, right down to the material mechanics. I reblogged a link to it in the notes if you're interested.
Thanks! It does look pretty close to what I was imagining.
